he assured. He left, not wanting to talk about the matter. On the full moon, Jared already took his position and I was forced to sneak out, going to the place I had asked Jared to prepare. The thing is, I had asked Jared to prepare and train my personal army. They think I don't have royal men in the palace but the truth is, I have fourteen thousand loyal soldiers waiting for a command. I had asked Jared to send them the command and slowly they began showing up, night by night, it started with a hundred, grew with a hundred and fifty and soon it grew to a thousand men as they all answered the command.

Five days since I was forced to train the warriors of the Blue Lily pack to raid our enemies for the fifteenth time. I lay on the ground of the forest, watching the borders of the Moon Crescent pack. The figures of the wolves stationed to guard the borders were stiff in alertness and if it hadn’t been for the light-hearted conversation they held amongst themselves then one would think they knew someone was coming, that we were coming.

I would not let it. The thunderous roar of paws thudding against the earth sent snow tumbling from the mountaintops. The earth shook beneath my paws. The tension and loneliness I’d been holding onto flared brighter for a moment before disappearing altogether. I was a warrior. I was the Young Luna of the Blue Moon Pack, and the Bloodpelt Prowler wolves were my enemies. Moving here did not change who I was. Being in Winterpaw was my greatest show of duty to Blue Moon yet. It made my connection to them stronger, not weaker.

You’re the one who burned half a field stopping the rogues last month?”

Far beyond the clearing, hidden deep within the forest shadows, another wolf watched silently. Unseen. Undetected. Patient. He had witnessed everything. The transformation. The battle. The title.
