Ripples finally appeared about 30 yards in front of me, only instead of the dragon emerging he had shifted into his human form. As soon as she stepped onto the porch, something strange happened. A thin trail of water droplets appeared in the air, shimmering like liquid pearls suspended mid-air. They formed a path, beckoning her forward. “Claud, what are you up to?” Lupa murmured to herself, a soft smile tugging at her lips. She reached out her hand and touched one of the droplets, feeling the cool, refreshing sensation spread through her fingertips. As she followed the water path, the droplets seemed to dance in the air around her, guiding her deeper into the woods behind their home.

“Just a little.” Her finger traced the smallest circle in the air. The droplet trembled—and rolled. Not down. *Around,* clinging somehow to the underside of the bark as if the world had tilted a hair to the side. A shaky laugh burst from her chest. She lost focus. The drop fell, darkening a spot on her knee. Luna sat there, chest heaving, staring at the damp mark as if it were some holy sign. “I moved water,” she said aloud, the words tasting absurd and awe-struck.
