Waves of Fate
Quietly, I whispered, “Wendy, no matter what comes our way, I’ll always be right here with you.”
She glanced at me with a playful smirk. “What’s gotten into you today? Too much sun?”
I didn’t reply.
I just smiled and gazed at her radiant face, silently making a vow. I had been given a second chance at life, and I wouldn’t make the same mistakes. I would stand by her, cherish her, and right every wrong I had made.
As the sun dipped lower, painting the sky in hues of gold and amber, the sea breeze carried a hint of evening’s chill.
