The darkness beckons to me, trying to pull me in with seductive hands. The crushing weight on my chest is suddenly removed. The sound of growling fills the air, but I start sinking into a void, an empty nothingness where I just float. A familiar voice is calling my name but it seems so far away and I'm so, very tired. I don't want to come back. Then, the voice orders me, it's small and unnoticed but it grows more and more insistent, bringing me back to consciousness with each second that passes.

I wake up every morning and the fire intensifies each passing day and no matter how hot it is I don’t seem to at least perish and die. I keep waking up to same routine and there’s nothing much I can do to help myself…I had tried before but it only got worse. I feel like this is my judgement however it is unfair. I have always lived my life right, follow the rules and be a good girl then why am I here? Why am I facing so much with no hope of recovery? Doesn’t the almighty see my misfortune and how much I want out? They indeed said “maybe he want us to meet a few wrong people so that when we finally meet the right person we will know how to be grateful for that gift…”

At first , her hand forms a circle and then a triangle – her mouth vomit words that none of us understand. “Who are you and what do you think you are doing?!” Andrew asks again , before raising to his feet. However , the woman continues to ignore him and chant. “This is your last warning to speak –“ Britney and I , watch in absolute horror as a small wave of some sort emits from her hands which begins to float towards us. Andrew is the first to come into contact with it , and this making him fall to the fall with a heavy thud. I rise from my bed , watching as Britney also fall unconscious by it’s touch – my sudden movement earns me a growl from the wolf. I start backing away , trying my har

"Whitney, can't you give me a chance? People talk about 'taking in stray cats', but when one actually shows up, they close the door..." Whitney's heart clenched as she imagined him with ears drooped in defeat, a lost cat in the rain. "Some folks just waltz into your life uninvited, and then, without so much as a bye or leave, they're ready to walk right out again... " Everett's voice was heavy with hurt, his hands slowly letting go. "Come tomorrow, you'll be set on moving out. I could show up at the coffee shop, and you'd just look right through me, like I'm thin air!"

Here she was, struggling to find work, while Elysia treated job hunting like an entertaining outing. "Let's go!" Elysia looped her arm through Sarah’s, her warmth and enthusiasm making it impossible to refuse. Sarah had always believed that rich young ladies were arrogant, spoiled, and cruel, just like Chloe. But Elysia was nothing like that. She was warm, straightforward, and surprisingly easy to be around. As they walked toward the car, Elysia’s eyes landed on the sleek vehicle parked in the driveway. She tilted her head. "Is this the car my brother gave you?"

I ask skeptically. “Wards aren't magic, they’re ancient ritual protections, drawn from the earth and maintained by the pack’s collective energy,” he corrects, sounding strangely like a history professor. “And yes, they are necessary. The world doesn't like things it can’t explain, princess. It especially doesn’t like things it can’t control. You and I, we are one of the most uncontrollable things on this continent right now.” He keeps talking, filling the jeep with his voice—low, light, annoyingly pleasant, occasionally dropping into that serious, husky rumble that sets my nerves on edge.

Jax’s voice was very reassuring as he wrapped his hands around my waist pulling me close to him. I wanted to continue protesting but his lips were on mine before I could utter another sound. Jax backed me up against the door, kissing me senseless. Perhaps it was the drinks from the bar, or maybe it was the whiskey on Jax’s lips, but I felt wild and free. Utterly wanton in my passion, I openly was expressing my desire for him. I met him for every kiss, every nibble, and every stroke of his tongue. I shamelessly pressed my body up against his, revealing in his blatant arousal. Even through his jeans I could feel Jax, and I shivered with excitement that soon he would be inside of me.

Her eyes began to glow when she opened them and I was scared a little, "Men from far, men nearby," she whispered, chanting what seems to be a spell, "—To you, we will be harmless flies, cork the ears of the foolish and the wise, lower the veils across their eyes." The place fell quiet. Noticing that we were back where we met, I swallowed hard, wondering why are we here, "Umm... I thought you said W.I.K.D is just behind those bushes," I swallowed hard, "They are... But do you trust me?"
