We Went Back Novels & Stories

Then maybe things won't end up the way it did with us. My heart hardened again and I turned back to my food. I'm Not changing my mind. Ever.

His voice was gentle as he spoke, and I shook my head in response, After a few more seconds had passed, I said to George, "We have to go back home," Staring into his eyes as I spoke, and he nodded his head in agreement, "We can always come back to finalize the deal, but as for now we should just go back home," he said, while I nodded at him,

I said. “Yep,” He said. He walked away and called someone on his phone, next thing I knew we both were in a car on our way to the pac. It was a really quiet ride back to the pack, when we got to the packlands every memory that I had came rushing back like a big flood. I knew this was going to be a bad idea with coming back, I just hope that Cali is gone and wont give me a hard time with being back.

"We've been through worse, remember?" I nodded, feeling a bit better at her words. Rozen was right. We had been through worse, and we had come out of it stronger. I just needed to have faith that we could handle whatever was coming our way. As the sun began to set, we decided to head back to our apartment. We had a long day ahead of us tomorrow, and we needed to rest. As we walked, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. It was as if someone was watching us, and I didn't like it one bit.

I could literally see wheels turning in his head but I had no idea what he was thinking about. I wondered how much fur got washed away if this was the amount that was washed along the edge. The thought wasn't pleasant. Then again, it's not my fur. It isn't. Damon finally looked back at me, his expression unreadable, "Let's go back home." I nodded and followed him. We walked back all the way to the pack, and since we had spent a little time running on all fours on our way here, the walk back was quite long. The walk was silent, neither of us saying anything to the other.

“Then let’s go home.” We slept. Deep. Safe. The worm died. Apex stabilized. The warrants evaporated, quietly, unofficially. Eze rotted in prison. And we flew back, not to Lagos. To the estancia. Cattle are still there. The lake is still jade. The house is still waiting. We walked the porch at sunset. Hand in hand.

We smiled at each other and enjoyed viewing the tulips in different colors. Many minutes had passed when my brother said that we should go back because Erik just mind-linked him. I nodded and we walked back to Erik's office. When we arrived at the office, Erik smiled at us and said "Let's start shall we?"

Nick answered first. "Did you want to go back?" Will asked. I looked at them both, not knowing exactly whether I wanted to stay or go back. "I didn't think in that sense, of wanting to or not. I just thought we'd go back." I answered simply. "Although it's only a three-hour drive, going back would be tiring, so let's spend the night in town," Nick said and looked at his watch. "Speaking of which, it's about time." I smiled and nodded briefly, then I took Will's arm, and we headed back to the car, the things the two of them had bought already in the trunk.

Chapter 52 “Where are we going, Mommy?” Emmanuel asked while we were all done packing our things. Our luggages are already in our living area. Knox and I packed everything last night because our flight is in the afternoon today. “We're going back to the Philippines. It's where we lived before,” I replied and gave him a tiny smile while he was still playing on the sofa. “Are you sure you're going back?” Charlotte asked while keeping her eyes at me, trying to read what's running in my head.

My brothers and I didn't want to talk about her before because we didn't want to worry about her too much, especially since our father gave us a mission and we wanted to focus on it. We found Mom in the living room and rushed to her. She didn't look worried like she was when we were leaving before, which could only mean that her daughter is awake. "You guys are back already?" she said, looking up with a smile. "Yes, Mom. We settled the issues at the borders, and we decided to come report to Dad before going back to school," I replied to her. "You're going back to school?" "Yes. We are already resuming. I mean, we did have a long location, but I think we should just resume on time."
