A sack of broken bones and torn flesh, I simply folded in on myself and fell. ​"NO!" ​Wendy broke her promise. She wasn't strong enough to catch me, she was a bird, and I was a falling rock, she lunged, wrapping her thin arms around my waist. She tried to take the impact, twisting her own body under mine. Her desperate cry turned into a sharp grunt as we both hit the stone floor in a tangled, agonizing heap. ​I couldn't breathe. The impact stole the air from my lungs, and my ribs screamed. All I could manage was a low, wet, gagging sound, my face pressed against the cold floor.

However, it was too late to dodge then. He moved his extended leg slightly, and her kick landed on his abdomen. He was unwilling to admit defeat. As he fell backward midair, his fingers formed claws as he grabbed her by her shoulders. "Wendy!" In pain, she called out to Wendy. Wendy understood immediately. Striding forward, she pounced on Solomon, who had crashed to the floor. "Mountain Slam!" Then, she landed on her bum on him.

Now, he was ready. Wendy lifted the gun again, this time, she positioned it on Kathryn's baby bump, with her deadly smirk. “This is fun..” she smirked. Lyon saw James move, quick and silent. James grabbed a chair, lifting it above his head. In one swift motion, he slammed it down hard onto Wendy’s head. The crack of the chair hitting her skull rang out in the room. Wendy let out a shocked gasp before crumpling to the floor, unconscious before she even hit the ground.

It was spring loaded, so once the seal on the end was broken, it pushed the sedative into the target, requiring no further contact from him. "Wha-what did you do?" Wendy's head snapped up, and she stumbled backward, holding her arm. The injector fell to the ground, lost in the deep shadows. "Nothing." He held his hands up. Five... She swiped her arm and looked down. Four... Her knees buckled, and she sat down hard. Three... Christ. She was going to cry. Two... He opened the gate, and she held out her arm as if to fend him off.

I voiced out. "And whose fault was that?" she said glaring at me. Your psychotic mind, I mumbled beneath my breath, just then she decided to drop one of her crutches, she tried to make it look like an accident but failed miserably. She's going to be the death of me, mumbled before adding a string of curse words to the statement. I hurried over to her and supported her falling figure by putting my hand around her waist leading her to the nearest table. I ignore how right it felt to place my hand around her waist or how she seemed to fit perfectly in my arms every time I carry her. I went to pick up the fallen crutch and made my way back to her.

Jules smiled and gestured me to go. As I walk my thoughts fly again. I also plan to visit mom in the hospital today because I’m sure her surgery is over. I quickly got to the locker room and quickly searched for my number. "2405, 2406, 2407,2408! Gotcha!" I smiled as I opened my locker but stopped suddenly when I saw an envelope in it. “What’s your attitude? I tell you the company’s been acquired, and you want to quit?” How much did she dislike him? “Benjamin, if I want to quit, I will. It’s my choice! Let go of me!” Wendy used her strength to break free, but in doing so, she lost her balance, and her high heels stumbled, causing her to fall backward. “Ahh!” As she was about to fall into the pool, Benjamin reacted quickly and caught her by the waist. With ease, he managed to hold her up, but as they locked eyes, gravity took its toll.

Chapter 32_ The Trap Wolfe Family House . Dinner was quiet, the way Gracie Wolfe liked it, Mr. Wolfe was cutting his steak slowly, reading something on his tablet. Gracie ate calmly, as if nothing in the world ever moved fast enough to disturb her. Then the dining room doors swung open. Wendy rushed in still wearing heels, her hair slightly messy, her breathing uneven. She didn’t even greet before she spoke. “Something has to be done about that boy!” she burst out.

Determined, Wendy stood on her toes, stretching toward the drink. She lost her balance. With a startled gasp, she fell straight into Zac’s arms. Zac instinctively caught her, his free hand tightening around her waist. “Careful,” he murmured. “It’s been years, and you’re still just as clumsy.” Wendy, her cheeks flushed from alcohol, leaned into his chest, tilting her head up at him with a playful pout. “Zac, you’re so annoying.” The crowd burst into cheers and teasing laughter.

All three women were already a mess, their clothes disheveled and their hair tangled. "Monica, you crazy woman! What the hell are you and your mother doing?!" Howard lifted the woman off the ground and held her in his arms, looking unbearably protective. Monica tried to kick them again, but several people held her back. Seeing this, Aunt Lorelei dropped to the ground dramatically, slapping her thigh. "I can't believe this! How did my good daughter end up with a worthless man like you?!" Howard looked at her with disgust. "Look at her. She's blown up like a damn pig. I can't even stand looking at her!
