It was Wendy, standing there with that smile of hers, the one that always seemed to make her eyes sparkle a little too brightly.
She took a slow breath, inhaling the air like it was something rare, and her smile deepened. “Good evening, Alpha Zane,” she said smoothly, stepping a little closer. “I saw the light, and I wondered if you were having trouble sleeping. I could help... if you’d like.”
