Charging toward her was a massive fox, its body sleek and shadow-black, but with nine great tails fanned behind it, each burning faintly with a strange light, red, gold, white, violet, and colors she couldn’t even name. Its eyes glowed an unearthly crimson, fixed directly on her. It wasn’t just big, it was colossal. Taller than a horse, broader than a bear. Each step made the ground quake as though the world itself was bowing to it.
