Every movement of the woods became a threat. The howl of wind through branches. The snap of twigs as creatures skittered. A rustle to his right. A flash of pale movement. “Was that—?” The girl shushed him and held up a thin arm, pointing to their left. A lithe shape lurked among the trees, almost invisible. Its graceful movements made no sound, like the mist of fog sifting through the forest. It had a sharp snout and pointed ears, thick red fur, and bright eyes. And behind the fox wove nine tail

Some of the kids hugged my legs and waist the other half was trying to show me their new werewolf things. "Fangs are way cooler." A small boy said while tapping the sharp fang sticking out from his gums. "No way! Claws are way better!" Another boy argued while admiring the claws sticking out of his fingers. Both of the boys fell silent when a petite girl with a pair of dusty brown ears and a matching tail walked between them. "Wow..." The first boy looked at her in awe and sighed when she flipped her hair at them. "Luna, look at my ears." She said softly.

The forest was cold after the rain. There were no dry spots to sleep and the night was much darker since we were deep within the forest. None of it bothered the werewolves. Each step made the ground quake as though the world itself was bowing to it.
