She ran towards the arbiter, her fists clenched, but he met her charge with a swift, brutal punch that sent her sprawling. Lycidas, now fully in his werewolf form, howled in fury and leaped at the arbiter. They clashed in mid-air, exchanging blows at a speed too fast to follow. Lycidas managed to land a few hits, but the arbiter’s celestial strength was overwhelming. With a final, crushing blow, the arbiter sent Lycidas crashing to the ground.

The outer part of Alpha Carlos's shoulder was torn off, and Easton threw the fresh meat away. I initially felt so calm, thinking Easton would win this fight. She screamed, hands scrabbling at slick hide. “Help me!” Tara’s scream ripped free as the others opened up—muzzles strobing the gloom. Rounds thudded; the beast barely flinched. It bit, wrenched—Linda’s trachea came away in its jaws; a red arc painted the pavement.

She drove the dagger's tip into the werewolf's arm, but it was all in vain. The werewolf's body was so big compared to his. The few stabs from the small dagger felt like pinpricks to him. "Help me!" Rula shouted. Rula hoped that someone, not necessarily Rondolf, would help her. Rula continued to scream while rebelling. "Help me!" The werewolf slashed her cheek. Rula was wounded with blood flowing freely. Rula was in excruciating pain. "Our leader wants you to die here, Luna!" The werewolf's voice was the last voice Rula heard. She went limp as blood ran down her cheeks.
