My gaze drifted over to Eason before I looked down at the floor. Five minutes was a lot of time for a beta lycan against werewolves who were considered lethal threats, even untrained lycans. "Dead on arrival," I said slowly. "Have you ID'd them yet?" "Not yet, but they're all wearing the WSU crests. One of them has it tattooed on the back of his neck. Another over his heart. Another on his back. They weren't exactly lower-tiered members." I nodded and turned to Grace, who was staring at Eason.

Thor killed his third attacker and stepped back toward me. “How many?” he asked. I did not answer. Because I was counting differently. Not how many remained. But how many were designed to die. That was when I saw it. On the wrist of one of the fallen wolves, partially exposed beneath torn fabric. A mark. A tattoo. Recognizable. I froze for a fraction of a second longer than I should have. Thor noticed immediately. “What is it?” I knelt slowly, pulling the wrist closer. The symbol was burned into skin with deliberate precision.

Val was slightly taken aback by what she didn't know whether to take as a compliment or not. A fierce bloody wolf's head with a pool of blood underneath it. And as water trailed from his neck towards it, it appeared like dropping blood instead. Water dripped down his chest, trailing past a strong wide chest, flat stomach and then into the towel leaving my imagination to run wild.

I get off the bed and walk over to him as he turns his back to me, Bridget comes in. I see her neck. The Metallic W. I jump on Victor’s back and grab the phone. “You two are werewolves!” I scream at them. “The tattoos, I thought it was something gay men did, but Bridget now has one where Wesley bit her. It’s a mating mark. You two are mates!” There is silence on the other line. “They are rogues. They have a peace accord with Wesley’s Pack, Wesley hasn’t put it together yet, but I guess you did,” Bridget tells me.

When he felt him too close, Tayson jerked in dread, shoving Wes away. "The heck you are doing? I am fucking straight!" he exclaimed, eyeing his flushed assistant. "So I am!" Wes defended himself. "But you smell strange and why do you have nail marks on your wrist? Tomorrow you have to shoot for the monthly magazine, Tayson. Those marks are gonna cause unnecessary controversies."

Zayn got a full view of the tattoo and he was bewitched. He eyed the masterpiece as he could pick out the drawing of flowers, a wolf, a piece sign, a skull, and some other things. One other thing that caught his eyes was the dragon that ran from his shoulder and disappeared on his nape. He wasn't a fan of tattoos but he was sure he loved what he was seeing. "What took you so long?" Will asked as he pulled the towel off his head and hung it on his shoulder. His hair bounced to his face and his ran his fingers through it to get it out of sight.
