Gwen. We were amazed when we arrived at the airport in Gardenia. It was a beautiful view. There were video commercials and posters that had wolves on. It was as it was described; a werewolf country, or so it seemed. The people were friendly at the airport. The arrival had many free souvenirs for visitors. I felt my babies kick, and I knew this was it. The triplets were so excited it was challenging to hold on to them. That was the only way to make her go to Athens with me. The vehicle arrived, and we set forth on our adventure. For the next two hours, the children had the time of their lives as we cruised through the preserve, stopping at each enclosure to get acquainted with the animals. All the animals were relatively wild and housed in their separate, extensive fields similar to their native habitat. There were different powerful antelope breeds, zebras, and giraffes, mostly the endangered species. Although they couldn’t be petted, unlike the farm animals, the twins enjoyed watching them being fed.

“Does any of this sound familiar at all?” Andrew’s blue eyes glinted with hints of green mischief. “Oh, yes. Giraffes. That’s familiar.” With a dour look, Evelyn continued. “You’re incorrigible. They were in quarantine in New York for several days, then their keeper drove them across the country on the back of a truck to the San Diego zoo. It took ten days. There were all kinds of updates in the newspapers. I can’t believe you never read anything about them.” “They’re giraffes, darling. Unless someone sold stock in them, you know I’d never have noticed.”

Till the time was right! On the western bank of the Mississippi River, the werewolves had taken residence and established their pack in the peaceful neighborhood of Algiers. It had been almost two weeks since they made a home out of their villa in Kenya, within a luxury safari resort. The giraffes had become familiar visitors around the villa. Some wandered near the outdoor deck in the mornings. Others appeared at sunset, slow and graceful beneath the fading light. Nathaniel shifted beside her, one arm lazily draped over her waist. They could see the kids outside on the balcony of the master bedroom, their heads sticking out toward the trees. “Which one is it?” he asked, his voice rough with sleep. “The tall one,” Sebastian answered immediately. “The one with the bent ear.”

Franklin spoke as the three rode our carriage to the New York Zoo ready to meet Blair, Cordelia, Princess Charlotte, Prince Benedict and of course, Lady Monika and Gavin. We arrived at a place where a grand zoo was located on the side of the street. It had black gates all over and you could see the towering giraffes they had inside. The animals were a tad bit quite low in number but many people are still amazed by them since this was the first city zoo in the United States.

Children ran past us, pointing and laughing, dragging their parents along with them. I held Lake’s hand, my other hand brushing against my father's arm, who walked beside me, straight-backed and curious. The first animal we saw was long-necked and spotted like coral reefs at low tide. Its head towered above the trees. “What in the gods’ name is that?” my father asked, his voice laced with awe that made me even more excited. “That’s a giraffe,” Lake answered with a grin. “It eats leaves and has a long neck to reach the tallest branches.”

The whole day we roam around the zoo watching different kinds of animals and birds. The contentment on the little princess's face is a sight to see. We see Raccoon, Hummingbird, Cockatoo, Peacock, Python, Anaconda, Camel, Leopard, Lion, Tiger, Sloth Bear, Giraffe, Koala, Giant Panda and many more. But the most my princess has liked to see is the Gray wolf who reminds her of her puppiesh. We also get to feed the giraffe which is not easy for Anhuphama because she gets scared of seeing the giant animal. However, after a lot of encouragement she manages to feed the

We no longer interfered in Bennet's nephew's affair. My husband and I just went for a walk again. This time on a mini-safari. We saw lots of dry land animals like giraffes, lions, cheetahs, etc. I'm enjoying myself to death. I also missed the outside world. For the past three months that I have not been with my National Geographic Team, I have missed a lot. I am too amused by things. I used to think that I wouldn't be able to leave the iguanas, tigers, zebras, hippopotamus, and others that I take care of at work.
