What Books Should I Be Reading Novels & Stories

Emma said, walking deep into the living room. "Thanks." She walked to a set of shelves on the far side of the room, running her fingers over the spines of his books. A lot of them were classics, novels by Dickens, Voltaire, Dumas, Melville, and Hemingway. She smiled when her fingers ran over the spine of not one, but three copies of Mitchell's Gone with the Wind. There were modern novels, too, including Stephen King and Sidney Sheldon, but they didn't look as well read as some of the others.

"One of my all-time favorite books is 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho. Its themes of destiny, personal legend, and the journey of self-discovery really resonate with me. I also love romance novels." Phoenix raises an eyebrow, intrigued. "That's a classic choice, Star. Coelho's writing is so introspective." Dexter joins the discussion. "For me, I'm a big fan of non-fiction, particularly biographies of historical figures. 'Leonardo da Vinci' by Walter Isaacson is one I recently enjoyed. The depth of da Vinci's genius is truly inspiring." Astrid nods, impressed. "That sounds fascinating, Dexter. Da Vinci's life was truly remarkable."

“Yeah… Animorphs and Goosebumps in elementary school do not a reader make.” “Hey, those are quality pieces of literature!” I declare. “Says who?” “Says me!” I huff, crossing my arms. “And I’ve read other books too! I like Stephen King and Michael Crichton and Neil Gaiman and—“ “Okay, okay,” he surrenders, lifting his hands and cutting me off. “Seriously, though, why are you going to the library?” “I’m going to do some research.” “For what?” “New training methods. Double checking some of the warrior laws for the kingdom.”

I hadn't memorized where I was reading so if I wanted to continue reading it would take me some time to find where I was reading. “More interesting than me?” Alpha King curled his lips. I nodded vigorously. Alpha King didn't care about my answer. He was still very happy. “Books are just a place to record knowledge and experiences in life. If you don't have the opportunity to experience what is written in the book, then you need to read it, but if you have the opportunity to experience what is written in the book, you should put the book down and experience it for yourself, that's the right thing to do. Books are other people's experiences, their experiences are not necessarily correct." Alph

I entered mine, went through the three books I had gotten from the store, and set them down on the bed. I folded my arms and read their names. The Claiming Rites, Finding the One, and Under the Red Moon. There was no order in which anyone should read these books, so I sat down and picked up The Claiming Rites. After an hour, I finished reading. The book made zero sense, and then I picked up Finding the One and spent another hour reading through it. While the first book was incomplete, the second made a little more sense. I picked up the third, which I had gone to Zion’s room with. I took my time reading, and another hour went by.

By the time Momma passed I was married with a little one on the way, so my chance for college had passed, too. But I never stopped reading. Got me a nice little library out back, filled with all sorts of books crammed on bookshelves made by my own two hands. Books like Tom Sawyer, Edgar Allen Poe stories, Huck Finn and The King in Yellow, (that last one I don’t read much cause it always gives me strange dreams), some old mysteries, a clutch of Lovecraft’s books (they hurt my head, too, so I don’t read them much neither), my Hardy Boys books from growing up, and a whole bunch of newer ones by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Bella is really going to benefit from someone who is really laid back and able to calm her down. Challenge this week is going to be a bit different. I want to know what other books you are reading/recommend, specifically on GoodNovel (I'll ask about other apps next challege). I'm currently reading Hatred with Benefits (updated daily) and love it.
