But before Kira could strike again, a blur zipped through the trees— BOOM! Kaid appeared like a meteor, his fist colliding with Kira’s chest so hard the shockwave split the air. Kira flew backward, tumbling across the forest floor, coughing.

Kaida and her packmates fought with all their might, their teeth and claws tearing into Sol's flesh. In the end, it was Kaida who landed the killing blow, her jaws clamping down on Sol's throat. She held on until he stopped struggling, and then she released him, panting heavily.
