How dare you!”. He yelled, strangling him. “Oliver.. Oliver, you are hurting him! Let go!”. Ava said, trying to separate his hands from Lucas neck. “How dare him try to touch you in front of me?”. He pushed past the nurses. “Where is she?” he asked. “Where’s Olivia?” A doctor approached him. “Mr. Harrington, Olivia is in the ICU. She has severe injuries and suffered significant memory loss. We’re doing everything we can.” Victor’s knees nearly stumble at the news. “Memory loss?” he echoed. The doctor nodded. “It’s possible she may not remember who you are…..or anything about her life before the accident.” Victor’s heart tightens as he was led to Olivia’s room. Seeing her lying there, weak and broken, was like a knife to his heart.

“You don’t know how many times the Alpha has cornered me. Threatened me. Bribed me. Begged. He’s obsessed—completely unhinged—about getting to you again.” I took a step back, my breath caught halfway to hell. “But I held it down. For you. For your son. I kept him out of the fire, even when it nearly burnt me alive,” Oliver said, his voice breaking. “But now... he’s calmed down.” I blinked. “Why?” He hesitated. And when he finally spoke, it wasn’t a whisper. It was a knife. “Because he got what he needed.” My heartbeat slammed in my chest like a warning bell. “What the hell does that mean?”

Oliver also burst into sobs, telling me that he was sorry over and over again. He greedily responded to my hug, like I wouldn't die so long as he never let go.

“What do you mean?” As soon as he finished speaking, we heard the sound of police sirens. The sirens got louder and closer. Xylo began to panic. I showed him the video of him using human blood to water the tree. He stared in disbelief but still would not let go of the tree. He clung to it tightly.
