He grinned. “I’ll try to stop.”
They finished their meal with light conversation, mostly about work and how everyone had reacted to the pitch. After paying, Luke stood and held the door open for her again. The evening air was cooler now, and the walk to his car was quiet but not awkward.
The drive was short. When they got to her place, Luke parked and turned to her.
“So… what does this mean?” she asked, her voice soft.
He looked at her for a moment. “It means I like you,” he said simply. “And I’d like to take things slow. No pressure.”
