Six heads, snapping in every direction. Dragon-bird hybrids with mouths big enough to swallow us whole. The body is massive—ten feet tall, thick with muscle, and lumbering like a nightmare. Its tail swings high over its back. It doesn’t fit through the gate, thank the Goddess, but all six heads do.
Dad’s plan to get behind it? Out the window.
Odysseus told us the second-longest neck would be the most aggressive. That’s our target. Jared and Summer lure it lower with slashes to the chest, and when it bends to strike, I leap for its eyes, slashing with claws.
