I’m not sure everything was going to be alright anymore. By the time I drag my feet out of the cafe and into the street my tummy is rumbling heavily, I haven’t even had anything to eat all day. I walk all the way home because I spent my last money going for an interview to be someone’s wife. And when I almost get the job I run out because I thought Jess was texting to give me the money for my rent. How pathetic of me. My feet an entire body is hurting when I round the corner to my apartment, the weather is already freezing cold and my tank top is doing nothing to protect me from it.

Zion said with a grin. "Yeah and she's gonna pay," Xander said, his eyes glinting with determination. "Don't do anything stupid or she's gonna smash your face next," Zion jested, making Xander give him a warning glare. "Alright... Why do I fail the people who rely on me?

Ivana cocked her head to the side. "Remember I promised to fess up everything, I think it's time, Ivana, I know it's hard to believe what I'm going to say but please be patient, I'll explain everything to you. The truth is this world is the world I created, in short, we're inside my novel," She confessed. A burst of laughter tore the silence in the room, "Nice one," Ivana laughed out aloud. "I know it's hard to believe but it's true," Arielle let out a nervous laugh.

And if there’s anything at all that I’ve learned these past few months, it is to pick my battles carefully. I try to sit up, but even that small movement sends pricks of pain throughout my body. Looking down at my body, I find that I’ve been cleaned and clothed with a loose oversized shirt and just panties. My legs are bare and I can see several bruises and scrapes from when I fell from Dick’s motorcycle. No, fell isn’t the right word. From where I jumped from Dick’s moving motorcycle and into that cliff we fell into. Richard. That bastard. If I knew he’d betray me and Dante like this, I would have suggested having him fired long ago, maybe transferred to a faraway place at least.

Nobody looked at me with disgust. Nobody called me names. I stared blankly at the empty road. Was this how it ended? Not with betrayal. Not with blood. Not with death. Just... A misunderstanding. One sentence. One look. One accusation. And everything we had built collapsed. A weak laugh escaped my lips. It sounded hollow. Funny. I had survived hunger. Violence. Loss. Loneliness. Yet the one thing that truly broke me... ...was seeing disappointment in the eyes of the man I loved.

I voiced out. "And whose fault was that?" she said glaring at me. Your psychotic mind, I mumbled beneath my breath, just then she decided to drop one of her crutches, she tried to make it look like an accident but failed miserably. She's going to be the death of me, mumbled before adding a string of curse words to the statement. I hurried over to her and supported her falling figure by putting my hand around her waist leading her to the nearest table. I ignore how right it felt to place my hand around her waist or how she seemed to fit perfectly in my arms every time I carry her. I went to pick up the fallen crutch and made my way back to her.

I stopped crying after several hours and JD stayed with me the whole time. Before long, the day finally ended. This marked the end of whatever illusion I had of ever being with Adrian and the end of The Decadence of The Fallen as well. We were a band no more after that and the girl who once fell for the "Ice Prince" had given up on trying to melt his frozen heart.

I reached for the ball gown, grabbing a fist-full in my hands and stood up on my feet while trying not to give attention to the blood covering a part of the white ball gown. “It’s all about determination, isn’t it?” I walked past the dead Italian mob, pushing the need to gag down my throat, while inching towards my husband. “All it needs is courage, after all.” Vincenzo’s dark soulless eyes bore into mine, making my inside cuddle, but I had no intention of showing him how much of an effect he had on me.
