Nereo dodges left, then right, laughing as Camellia pretends to trip over her own feet, giving him just enough time to make a break for the trees at the edge of the yard.
“You’re too fast!” she calls out, her voice filled with warmth, but I can see the joy in her eyes. There’s nothing forced about it; it’s real, genuine. She’s happy. And that makes me happy.
Camellia finally slows, resting her hands on her knees as she watches Nereo disappear into the trees. Her chest is heaving from the run, her cheeks flushed, and I can’t help but admire how radiant she looks.
For a moment, I’m completely lost in her.
