Primal Craving
Alaric’s voice echoed through the mindlink, dripping with mockery as I made my way to the front door.
I ignored him.
“Hi, Lilah,” I signed as I passed the dining room. She looked up from her plate, her lips coated in melted chocolate, and gave me a sweet, cocoa-stained smile in return.
“Darius and Camellia sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S—”
I slammed the door on the mindlink before alaric could finish.
The smile slipped right off my face the moment I saw her.
Camellia’s eyes were red-rimmed, as if she’d been crying, and her scent—gods, her scent—was different now that I was close enough to breathe it in.
