The child looked up at the ceiling with those silver eyes. "Up," the baby whispered—her very first word. The floor trembled. In the center of the Library, a stand made of pure light rose from the floor. On top sat a single, empty golden jar. "The Auditor was right about one thing," June realized, heart heavy. "To save the world, someone has to stay. Someone has to guide the memories back to the right people." "I’ll do it," Sarah said, glancing at the baby, then at June.

The child before me starts to fade away, her eyes those sad eyes brimmed with tears her last words shook me to the brim "Save me...save us….mate." I wanted to ask her what I should do to save them, most importantly why she felt I was the one to save them, nothing made sense but before I could speak she was gone. My eyes roam through the devastating sight before me, the ruins, the scorched earth, the burning houses and nearby trees, the dead bodies that littered the earth, and the agony, and disbelief in the eyes of the few that survived.

She has the power and knowledge to hide in plain sight." The clearing was only a few KM away. An hours walk at most. "Tonight," I said addressing the waiting fighters, "under the cover of darkness, we will make our move. We will take the war to Alaya and we will win." The walls shuddered as an eardrum-shattering cheer ripped through the crowd. Wolves clapped and howled, stamping their feet off the ground. Skye squeezed my hand tighter, gripping so hard my bones ached.

Images crashing into her with waves of nausea. Two tiny hands held open a large thick covered chapter book in both hands, the words on the page calling out to the young girl reading a level far beyond her years. She was reading a story about a boy who was trying to save the world, but everyone was against him. It was a sad story, but it gave her a sense of joy with each chapter she completed. With a content smile on her lips, she flipped over to the next page, immersed in the world of fantasy.

i walk over and sit on the couch and wait. She sits there watching waiting, after a few minutes she speaks, “i bet you are wondering where you are?” i nod and reply, “im assuming im dead judging by being in here with an angel.” She giggles, “yes and no, the gods are wanting you to try and see if its safe to bring the world’s together or if they’re going to go ahead and destroy themselves with their hatred of other species.” She takes a breath, “Each Species has their own god and this was decided to let you decide if you want to save them to save yourself.”

The grin on his face at my words is the sweetest thing I've ever seen in my life. "Look who's chained to someone else's world now."
