The Eclipse Secret Child
I said, a dark, cold smile touching my lips, "I’m going to vanish."
I stepped off the dais and into the Void-walk.
The world of marble and gold dissolved into a blur of pearlescent grey, I didn't travel across the land, I slipped through the "between" spaces, the silent gaps in reality that the Lunar Cult had forgotten, when I emerged, I wasn't in the city, I was three hundred feet below the surface of the Great Sea, standing on a shelf of jagged coral.
The pressure was immense, a physical weight that tried to collapse my lungs, but the Eclipse-veins on my arms flared with a protective, violet light, I moved through the water not as a swimmer, but as a ghost.
