“Someone has to. You work too much.” Kai took a bite of the cookie and groaned softly in satisfaction. “Okay, I’m not even exaggerating. These are amazing. You’re magic, Lily.” I giggled and leaned my head against his shoulder. “They’re your favorite, remember? I wanted to surprise you.” He took another bite, then turned to me with a smirk. “Wanna taste?” He held up the last bit of the cookie near my mouth.

I tried my best and finally finished shaping the cookies to put them in the oven. Just as I took the fragrant cakes out of the oven, the hourglass also dropped the last grains of sand. Mrs. White coldly shook the bell to signal that the time was up. At that time, the five of us immediately brought five delicious cookie plates that we had just made to the living room for Mrs. Laurie, Mrs. Stella, and Mrs. Luna to enjoy and review.

Maddy chimes in, passing the bag of cookies to Blanca. "Watch out," I warn, "those are disgusting." Ignoring my advice, Blanca practically stuffs the entire cookie into her mouth and mumbles, "Great, pot cookies." "Wait, what?" My jaw drops. Lennox stands up. Color drains from Willow's face. Thereafter, the White Lily Cold Flame would appear in the middle of the lava daily. Just like a little pixie, once it had absorbed the energy from the lava, had enough of fun, it would submerge back into the lava. After ten minutes, the honey turned caramel in colour so I turned off the flame and added a few drops of cold water to stop it from cooking further. I set aside the burnt honey to cool down and took another saucepan to heat butter, sugar, burnt honey and regular honey altogether. After five minutes, I added baking soda and started whisking it until the colour changed while giving tiny bubbles. After it cooled down a little, I added salt and vanilla and gave it a stir. In another small bowl, I whisked the eggs and poured it into the butter honey mixture. After sifting in flour, I started folding like Lily told me to do. When it became cookie-like dough, I covered it and kept it in the fridge.

"Come have a look for yourself.” She stepped out of the way, and made hand gestures, motioning me to go have a look for myself. I opened the oven and pulled out a tray... What the actual fuck! They were actually different batches of them, with most of them being my favorite; brown chocolate cookies, and the others, white chocolate cookies. “Oh, my world!” I gasped, taking in the tantalizing sight before me. "I would need you to take a bite and give me your review.” She kept her grin. I bet she was loving the moment.

Lila's POV Against all odds, the cookies actually turned out amazing. The warm scent of melted chocolate and vanilla was still clinging to my hair as I walked down the quiet corridor of the ground floor, carrying the heavy ceramic plate with both hands, staring down at the golden-brown cookies with a ridiculous amount of pride. They didn't look anything like the lumpy, half-burnt disaster I'd almost created before Lucien rolled up his sleeves and rescued the batch.

This fairytale come true that was never even a blip on my horizon before. Caitlin kept me busy for the better part of an hour and then it was cookie baking time. I love the smell of things baking for the holidays, adds that extra oomph and Colt loves my white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.
