He tells her. She lets out a squeal and does a little dance in her seat. I call it her happy food dance. I look around, and everyone is smiling at her. There is a sealed dish on her tray with something in it. She squeals again when she opens it. There are four large cookies with some type of cream in the middle. Nate asks Ms Amy what they are. I know for a fact that Ms Amy has just made a new best friend. The cookies themselves are chocolate mocha with raspberry almond cream filling. She pops the top back on and starts eating. I hear a growl, and we look over. Tyler is trying to get himself a cookie.

I said looking her in the eye. “I’ll use them to decorate the cookies, they’re tasty and they make the cookies look a lot more presentable on the table” “Cookies?” I asked frowning in confusion, it being a term I never heard before. “Biscuits, but they’re stuffed with the cocoa, which is why I call them cookies” Kiara said smiling, giving me a piece of biscuit, which seemed to have small darker brown circles matching the color of the cocoa she made, I tried one and I closed my eyes letting the delight dance in my mouth.

Ryan asks. "Okay. Go and get changed in fifteen minutes. Go. Go. Go." I say as I push him to get up. "Okay. I am going." Ryan says and runs from there like his tail is on fire and I laugh but then frown. "Lia. Are the cookies ready?" I ask her. "Yes. It is. Here. Taste it and tell me if it is to your liking." Lia says as she puts a tray of cookies and a glass of milk on the coffee table.

The little flame of smoke danced across her face and then disappeared as she straightened herself. “What did you wish for?” Soriya asked. Lilly’s dad. It was vanilla cake inside. Creamy and soft. It was perfect. “Delicious,” she said. “Good choice.”

Lily squealed as she rushed into the alcove, chocolate covering her face. “Someone has a shadow,” Austin grumbled. I grinned and knelt in front of Lily. “How was your cookie?” “I got you one.” “You did?” She nodded and slipped her hand into her pocket, pulling out the crushed remnants of a cookie and holding out her palm. “Oops.” I laughed. “It’s okay, baby. Let’s get you cleaned up and find your dad, okay?” “Glue, babe,” Austin said as I stood. I rose up on my tiptoes and kissed him quickly. “Glue, honey.”

I hate how most of them tasted but I knew it was just the kind of snacks Lily liked. Weird snacks. Her eyes went wide like I'd handed her a million dollars, and she clutched the keychain to her chest and immediately tried to pry open the cookie tin with her tiny fingers. I helped her open it, and she shoved a crown-shaped cookie into her mouth and grinned at me with crumbs falling down her chin. “What happened to your finger, baby?” She giggled. “I took needle.” She laughed again. “Lily, needles are bad, didn't you promise to be good for me?”

He took another cookie. Lily let him.

I said, and Mrs Kowalski cleared her throat from the doorway where she was pretending to read a magazine. We cut the cookies into shapes, and Lily wanted stars and hearts and dinosaurs, and Rook wanted hockey sticks, and I told him that we did not have a hockey stick cutter, and he said that we should buy one. Lily cut a cookie that was supposed to be a star but looked like a blob, and she said that it was Daddy, and Rook said that it looked exactly like him before coffee.
