"Nope, not sweet but I'll suffer through a few bites if I must." The little girl squealed with delight and changed back into her wolf form scampering off through the trees. Brandt turned and headed in the opposite direction, back toward the cabin. He didn't go fast allowing Emily to catch up. Two hundred yards from the cabin, he saw a rabbit run through the trees. Giving chase, he relayed orders to his mate without thinking, "Circle around and then don't move. I'll bring her to you." Emily complied but when the rabbit came close and Brandt yelled, "Get it." She grinned delightfully and turned her head to watch the gray fluff scurry by.

"Mom gave me a pouch of spices yesterday and told me to let it burn as I slept." Rebecca's expression shifted at this, then she broke into a wide grin. "Everly, those spices are the good stuff. You must do as Mom says, okay?" I felt the hair on my arms rise at the sight of her odd, cryptic grin. There were plenty of rabbit-women in our settlement, but not many of them could grow bloodstones. Word had it that most of the bloodstones were swallowed up by the rabbit-women themselves on the day they were delivered.

The triplets were gone for five months and they were on a war with the vampires, the biggest enemies of the werewolves. With the triplets leading the army, the werewolves won over the Vampires and it was a call for the celebration. Aurora was present there too but she was at the last, in a corner. She was wearing a cheap dress which was white in colour and ended till her ankles. Just like everyone, she was too waiting for the triplets to come. Just then something caught her eyes. It was a white rabbit which was jumping and moving towards the garden. A small smile appeared on her lips and she watched it. She looked around and secretly moved towards the garden in the hope to find the rabbit.

But instead of old stories from my grandmother’s life, the pages were scrawled with strange symbols and sketches—shorthand in her handwriting explaining the purpose of different runes and sigils. Flipping through the pages, there were sketches of wolves, and the last page that she’d written in had a detailed rendition of a nightmarish wolf-beast that made my blood run cold at the sight of it, it’s eyes smudged over with charcoal in the shape of a protective rune. My heart raced when I realized what I was holding. This was no ordinary journal, it was a spell book.

“Let them try.” For the first time in days, Ezra let the silence rest without crushing him. There was something whole about it. Something steady. He said and his eyes went to Marcel. Marcel fully understood the encrypted message behind Rolan’s statement. He knew Rolan was saying he wasn't capable enough of protecting Selena. Though he found Rolan's statement to be offensive Marcel chose not to say anything. His mind right now was just focused on one thing and that's finding the little girl before she gets hurt.... ★ Meanwhile deep inside the woods a little girl dressed in a white gown with long golden hair like the sun could be seen slowly chasing after a white rabbit. “Wait Mr Bunny. I don't want to hurt you. I just want to play.." she was calling out to the bunny who was just busy hopping away anytime she got too close.

Just like that. As if he were informing a dying mother of a minor inconvenience. I saw the flicker of pain cross his face—he felt it too—but he masked it quickly, sealing it behind that cold Alpha expression. That night, my bones cracked. Shifted. For the first time, I shifted. My wolf emerged black—huge, powerful, untamed. I ran. Ran until my lungs burned, until the rage threatening to consume me had nowhere left to settle. *PRESENT TIME* “Let go of me,” I snapped, struggling against his grip.

'My. 'And I am her mother', said a voice from the door. 'You are a...' Alpha Sean said looking at the woman who had just intruded on their conversation. 'Witch!' she supplied, smiling easily. 'You got that right. I am a witch and Crystal's mother. I heard you wanted me to come visit in the morning for formal introductions and decided to come now'', she explained, the easy smile still playing on her face. 'So, it means, Anna..er.. Crystal is not a werewolf but a witch?' Alpha Sean asked astounded. How could he have been deceived this way?
