"Your mother would be proud," I breathed in heavily as I reminisced about my own family, all lacking proper burial sites. Suddenly, there was a small rustle from the bushes that caught my attention. It was a small white rabbit, curiously venturing closer to us. The rabbit's black eyes were tracking the floor, while its whiskers flickered in the air. Damian curiously raised his eyebrows and looked to me. "What's it doing?"

She was sure Rhobart had had more than one encounter with ice wolves, shadowbeast, and other creatures, but she hated the idea of him being hurt by any of them. “Did you get bitten by an ice wolf?” asked Ayla. “I was ten. He bit my right leg just a second before my sword cut his neck. Trust me; you don’t want that to happen to you. But you don’t need to worry. I won’t let anyone harm you. Ever.” Rhobart ran faster, making Ayla dizzy. She closed her eyes. “Slow down, or I will throw up all over your cloak.” Rhobart groaned in frustration but obliged. “White does are very rare. You are lucky to have seen one.”

"Mommy is so stupid! Sera doesn't want you touching her!" She reached in and smugly petted the rabbit for a long time. The rabbit didn't struggle once. I lowered my eyes, hiding my smirk. A few minutes later, they left. It was just me and the rabbit. Inside the cage, the white rabbit slowly raised her head. She tried to twitch her nose, but suddenly, her body began to tremble. Her pristine white fur was falling out in clumps, revealing sickly, bruised purple skin, as if something was corroding her flesh.

Even the ravens perched along the rooftops. Grey watched her for a second. She truly had never left Valir's palace. The realization unsettled him. Twenty years. Confined. Always indoors. Always watched. She noticed a pair of white rabbits darting beneath a hedge behind all the gathering people. Her eyes softened immediately. Then as though she remembered where she was, the softness disappeared. Replacing itself with careful caution once more. Grey frowned slightly. Strange woman. The palace gates finally closed behind them. And silence returned.

As soon as I opened my eyes in the morning, my eyes immediately fell on white boxes tied with a blue silk ribbon. Pulling them out to the middle of the room, she chose the largest one, pulled the ribbon with trepidation, removed the lid, and there! ... I stood motionless and looked inside, then carefully pulled out and unfolded - a fur coat! Frozen, she held her outstretched arms, examining her from all sides. I recognized the fur right away - a polar fox.

It was so strong that she couldn't even use her werewolf strength to push it away. She helped Ellie up to the nearest chair before sitting beside her. She took a book out of her bag and opened it. "The only strong creature I know that has green eyes is this." She dropped the book on the table for Ellie to see. "A white wolf?" Ellie asked, looking at the picture in the book. She remembered that she had seen the white wolf picture in one of Alex's books in his study. She remembered that the real white wolf was the only wolf with green eyes, and it was very rare.

Too busy crying to notice Chris sauntering towards him,droplets after droplets racing down his face no matter how hard he tried to hold them back, “Rabbit?” He froze. Now wasn’t the right time to meet this guy. There was never a right time to meet this guy! He quickly wiped his face, wincing at the swollen sides that stung as his hands swept over them, “Hi Christopher” “Are you crying? Wait, why is your face swollen?” Chris grabbed Rabbit by the wrist, pulling him closer to himself, examining his face and tapping the reddish-purple spots lightly. “No one, please let me go”

She scowled at him. Sighing Cronos did not argue with her. What would be the point? She was never going to have the chance to find out differently anyway. At least she was making the best of her deal with Uranus and enjoying her life. The day would come when this would be over, and she would have to deal with reality. That day may be sooner than later if those wolves and her family figure things out. As they wandered around the library looking at all the books she had, Cronos spotted a book and pulled it out. Pondering the title of the book, he revealed the book's content, “A book on the mystical white wolf.”

Their worry permeated the air, but it was not for him or the little human girl that was left behind. It was for themselves. The Conduit was dead and now there was no one to protect them.
