Why Are You Laughing Novels & Stories

He looked deep into my eyes for a while and then burst into laughter. "What the hell are you saying, man? What the fuck is coming out of your mouth? I don't think you are in your right senses at all. You must be high in something." He paused as he could not stop himself from laughing. What is so funny to him? Why does he always have to be joking around with all this stuff? I am here saying all this important stuff and all he did was laugh?

Suppressing laughter, I nearly choke on it. "Did I just laugh?" My expression contorts in dismay at my sudden laughter. Quickly, I slammed my hands to my mouth, not wanting to get Emily attention. As feared, my laughter provokes Emily. "Why are you laughing? What's amusing about my words?" She demands, frustration dripping from her voice. I sigh, offering a brief explanation. “I wasn't laughing at you. I had some thoughts that amused me.” "Wow," she claps sarcastically, irking me. "You have your own thoughts while I'm speaking, huh?"

She burst into laughter while covering her face as she glanced at me still giggling like it’s the cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. "T'was good wasn't it?" I asked proudly as I smile. "I don't know. I just love hearing you laugh. Seeing you smile. Knowing that I'm the reason why you’re laughing and why you’re happy." “You do make me happy."

His gaze returned to me, disappointment clear and heavy. “I’ll make her apologize.” I lay sprawled on the cold deck, my body barely responding to my own will. He stopped and gave me the evil eye, "You need to stop joking around. What you are going through is serious and it hurts you to laugh." I said, "I know, but if I don't laugh, I'm going to cry. I hate crying."

ASHLEY'S P.O.V There are different reasons why people laugh. Some people laugh out of happiness, say when they pass an exam or get a modeling trip to Hawaii. Others from excitement, like when they hear good gossip. Some people laugh in victory and some laugh to mask defeat or shame. Laughter can be a language when understood. You can tell so much by the sound of it, the person, and why he or she is laughing.
