“Vile blood,” Rhode muttered, raising the cotton swab he used to take a sample from Malakai’s open wound.
Rhodes had arrived in London earlier than expected when Reis requested him, but I was afraid his arrival was already too late for Malakai. Earlier, he had been groaning, but now he just lay still, not making a sound, his eyes slightly open.
“Vile blood?” I creased my brows, not understanding what he meant.
“It’s a poisoned drug,” he responded, placing the cotton swab into a plastic bag and returning it to his first aid box. “It’s like taking steroids, but it has an immediate side effect when not treated on time.”
