I had never seen him but I heard how horrible of a man he was. I heard he had no respect for women and would stop at nothing to destroy anyone standing against the empire handed over to him by his father.

Taking a deep breath, Vicky began explaining. “You know how socialite families are ranked, right?” Aurora nodded. “The Romano family is among the very top—Class A—along with four other families. But within the Romano family, Michael is not just anyone. He’s infamous, even in the organization. They say he’s ruthless… merciless. Someone you don’t ever cross. As for us, the Greyharts, we’re only ranked Class B. So, no matter how much I want to break this marriage… I can’t interfere.”

“There is a difference.” Diego cried out with sweat appearing on his forehead. “You are insane, Alex; you have always been insane. Diego knew that he couldn't spill those dark secrets. He knew that of he does, his life would end instantly. So it’s Alex kills him or the the other mafia lord kills him. Diego’s words caused Alex to press harder. “And here you are, begging for my mercy. Yet you think I'm insane,” he chuckled dryly. His facial expression hardened suddenly. “Talk, Diego. These are not playground games, they are tied to ultra-rich, deeply corrupt individuals and families who operate on a completely different level. And this brings me to an important point: mafia characters are not meant to be morally perfect. If you’re looking for soft, honorable, or traditionally “good” male leads, this genre, especially my stories, might not always give you that. The mafia world is not built on kindness or morality, it’s built on power, survival, and cruelty. I understand that not every character will be for everyone, and that’s completely okay. But I ask that you meet the story for what it is, not what you wish it to be.

He seemed unbothered by everything happening around him. He looked at me with a bored expression as if he couldn’t care less that one of his men bought me as a present for him. Sell people?” “We make rules and we break rules. We don’t do the things you said but other clans do. We deal with corporate, weapons, and other things.” Again I nodded and then I kept quiet. “Can I also ask you something?” he asked. He looked into my eyes as if he was searching for something in it. “Didn’t you ever feel anything for me from the day we met? Not at least once?”
