Why We Sleep

I have always been interested in nature and loved taking care of animals but never thought this little interest of mine will land me into a world , I never knew about. I have always been a practical nerd working my way up to make my dream my reality, living in my own small world untill I met him. He was the one who introduced me to this world making me realize how we love among other creatures too. No, not animals or birds but werewolves, vampires, elves and what not. We always say world is so small but at the same time we forget how big it can be hiding all kinds of secrets beneath it or maybe purposefully hidden from us. Seeing him for the first time I knew it's not our first meeting... But how??? I never met him before so why my heart keeps telling me otherwise.

"Why are you doing this to me? I'm not a baby making machine!" Tears ran down her cheeks. "This is the only way we can procreate a baby. I will not intimate with you after what you did to me. Never!" Brandon looked at the doctor, and with a sign he gave him permission to tie her to the bed. "You'll pay for this, Brandon." "That's how I ruin my dear wife."

"Get up, I'm hungry. Cook for me NOW!" The authoritative tone jolted me awake, not giving me a moment to freshen up or even change. We don't sleep side by side; he stays in the master bedroom while I occupy the guest room. He can't stand being near me. It hurts deeply when those words come from him, but it's a recurring pattern. I hurriedly made my way downstairs, still tying the robe around me. In the kitchen, I began preparing his breakfast. You see, I'm his secret wife. No one knows except our parents and a few friends. Since we got married, not a day goes by without him reminding me that he doesn't love me. Not a day goes by without him hurting me. But that's alright because, as I've mentioned, I love him so much that I'm willing to do anything just to earn his love in return. A single tear escaped and fell onto the clove of garlic I was chopping. I quickly wiped it away. From the corner of my eye, I noticed Manang watching me. I took a deep breath to regain my composure before turning to her with a forced smile. "I'm sorry; I got emotional over garlic." I lied.

Odds! Wouldn't it be odd to not have something to fight against like suppose just some odds that we have to face? We can't just escape them for sure. I mean numbers can't be complete with just even series, right? Just the same way, having odds has been a normal part of anyone's life. Yeah, sometimes these can be weird too. Still, they can be overcome and many can be successful in doing that also. Alas! Some may not be able to do that. Anyway, why talk about such people who lets the odds win now? First, let's meet the ones who faced some of the difficulties thrown at them wobbling on their feet. But, were they able to go on against all odds?

Skylar muttered shivering in tears,her leg were weak and she was barely holding up,her heart was pounding and beads of sweat form on her hair She was looking at the people she lived with for years,her family,he everything "Why do this?I thought we are family,why do this to me?? Her so called father said "Guess she's still don't know" her angelic sister said smiling sinisterly "We are not your family you are a bastard father picked up to take care of" every word said sank in,she grasp She look at them all and saw a mocking look "This….this can't be" she muttered and felt a warm liquid on her lap,it went down to her leg she look at her leg and her face turn ghastly "My....my baby" she cried out All she heard around her was their laughter She cried out,clutch her tummy but she knows her baby was gone that killed her baby Her's and Leon's baby,and she lost it at that moment,she felt an undefeatable energy,her eye turn red  "I will kill you all!" She yelled and rushed toward her sister "Mom!!" Her sister screamed in horror "You bastard" her father dragged her hard from her sister and she lose energy from her leg,she was pushed "Ahhhhhh!!" She screamed in horror,she felt unexplainable pain,her body rolled down the stairs at that moment she knew she was gone She tried to fight her eyes open but it not working and after a while she black out        Skylar woke up from comma with no memories She suddenly got a husband and family what happens when her family is not what she thought they are

The smoothie shop was a whirlwind of activity during the lunch rush when a customer's call shattered my focus. "Is this the manager?" a sharp voice demanded. "I ordered a smoothie with just a touch of sugar. Why is it so sweet?" I checked her order and explained calmly, "Miss, Chocolate Bliss has a naturally sweet base." Not long after, she called again. "I asked for five ice cubes. Why are there only four?" Swamped and barely keeping up, I apologized and moved on. Before I could catch my breath, the phone rang once more. "I requested the guy in the black shirt to deliver my order. Why did a girl show up?" Suppressing my irritation, I clarified, "Miss, we handle the drinks; deliveries are managed by couriers." Finally, the calls stopped. But as the rush subsided, the headquarters called, telling me that a customer had lodged a complaint, accusing me of seducing her boyfriend.
