THE WILD CAT
A sickening sound filled the air, and warm liquid splattered across my face.
I blinked. My breath caught.
The woman collapsed to the ground, blood pooling around her lifeless body.
I stared, horror paralyzing me.
Armani had pulled the trigger.
No one reacted. No gasps. No shock. Nothing.
A piercing scream ripped from my throat, raw with terror. I thrashed, desperately trying to break free from Lucas’s hold.
“Let go of me, you monsters!” I shrieked, struggling against him.
Annoyed, he shoved me away. I hit the floor hard, my palms stinging from the impact.
