I pull out another, laughing at the incredulous title - Does It Hurt, by an H.D Carlton, feeling really curious, I open a random page, and frown as I try to make sense of the scene. I gasp as I begin to make sense of it, my mouth falls open at the full realization of what it actually is, the book falls out of my hand with a resounding thud.

This was a werewolf lore book just like the ones I’ve devoted myself to reading in the last week, but unlike those, this was a children’s book. I snapped it shut, got up, and hurried away from Zion’s room. I entered mine, went through the three books I had gotten from the store, and set them down on the bed.

I picked up a thick book resting on a side table and sat down on a wooden chair. The title stamped in gold across the cover read: Bound To The North. My brows furrowed as I flipped it open. It didn't look like a children's book, but still, I cleared my throat and began to read anyway. The story detailed the life of a single mother who had survived the Rogue War, protecting her two young pups against impossible odds in the bitter cold. By the time I reached the fifth page, the young children had already drifted off to sleep. But when I made a move to close the book, several women surrounding my chair looked up at me, silently begging me to continue reading.
