Trent put the phone back in his pocket and stood outside the entrance to his building. Max was pulling the car forward, and Trent paused, his mind suddenly going elsewhere. Which was why he didn't see the small figure surrounding him. Suddenly Trent was startled by the being that pounced on his lower body, small arms wrapping around his legs. the heart of Trent shivered and he slowly looked down, his mind reeling as he wondered why that moment felt so familiar, just as it had once before. He looked down and saw radiant green eyes looking up at him, tears of happiness glistening in their corners.

I wasn’t expecting that from him. Trent stared into my eyes innocently, biting down on his lower lip. “I know you have a lot of questions to ask, and it’s my fault for frightening you. But I promise you Eve, I didn’t come here with any bad intentions. I came here to see you.” I stared, wondering what he wants from me. “Can we sit down and talk?” He requested, taking his finger of my lip and pointing at the bed. I agreed and sat with Trent. Then he began explaining himself. “I did leave Wolf Fall. I went back to my pack to give the cubs to their family, but since that night, I’ve been feeling restless after meeting you, Eve.”

Trent closed the door and threw up a spell as I crossed the room and poured myself some water. “I don’t think I have to tell you that it’s very likely that he’s a White Moon survivor,” Trent said. “Whoever bought him from the auction did a hell of a good job covering their tracks, or they’re a totally different outfit. I’d like to put him in trance to try and get some more details.” “If he agrees, then do it.” Trent nodded. “As for his Handler situation, I’ve got it under control… mostly because he doesn’t have an assigned handler.”
