Because sometimes, the only way to find clarity in confusion is to confront it head-on. As I stood at the edge of town, gazing up at the imposing Hollow Peak looming over it, I couldn’t help but marvel at how breathtakingly beautiful it was. The mountain, with its jagged peaks and snow-capped summit, looked like a giant diamond sparkling in the sunlight. And the town at its foot, nestled in the valley, was equally enchanting, with its charming houses and cozy streets.

Concern and dislike. She frowned, "What?" He sighed, "I have to tell you something." "Sure," she said, slightly anxious to hear his news. "It's Will." Her anxiety grew, "What about him? You saw him?" He nodded once, "Yes." Her eyes widened, "Where?" "In the forest." She frowned. Huh? Had he come to maybe try to find animals? "When?" "The same day i returned." Now she was confused, "Yesterday? But how? I didn't see him with you."

My alarm was going off so I rolled over and turned it off. I heard my mother hollering from down the stairs. "Willow get up. Your going to be late." I pulled the blanket over my head and yawned. I knew I should've went to bed earlier but I was just starting to get into a really good book and I just couldn't put it down. My name is Willow Addison. I am sixteen and starting my junior year in high school. I have always been a bookworm I guess you can say. Not that I didn't have friends but I have just always been into my studies. I kept impecable grades and stayed out of trouble.

The manor was white with big floor to ceiling glass windows, it looked celestial under the moonlight. I have been in WillowRidge for my whole life, but I never knew about this manor, no one could see this from the road, it is so well hidden. What a wonder. The assistant opened my door and took me to the side of the manor through a garden of colourful flowerbeds that looked so beautiful even at night. But she had no idea that I didn’t want to reject her. The hot summer air in Louisiana was no joke, the entire wolf pack often finding itself in the river trying to cool off. Today was no different. But my mate, she didn’t stick around. Willow, what an unusual name. Soft and yielding but stronger than any other trees in our area.

Her nose was red. It was noon, and the sun hung high in the sky. The car approached Lake Tolpond, where a secluded resort sat. It was deserted in winter, and things were silent and still. Only one cabin had smoke coming from the chimney—someone was obviously using the fireplace to make things warm and toasty inside. Willow told the driver to pull up before that cabin. Once the car stopped, she opened the door. Her hands trembled uncontrollably, and she felt stiff all over. As she got out, she practically stumbled to the door and barged in without pause.

Roy once appreciated Willow for knowing her place, but now, he resented her indifference. Along the way, Roy chatted with Sierra while Willow was left to sit in silence. As the car could only take them halfway up the mountain, they had to hike the rest of the way. Hence, Roy put Willow up in a lodge while he and Sierra took the hike. Willow’s call came in at ten at night. She had an emergency and needed to leave. Roy fixated on the candle on the altar table, his voice hushed. “I can’t leave right now. We’ll discuss this tomorrow.”

We were four broken pieces of a planetary puzzle, and we needed to link our resonance if we were going to stand a single second against the Seventh Peak. ​I called for a Grand Council at the "Apex Orchard"—the highest point of the island, situated on the ruins of the Mother-Hive’s primary command bridge. The view from the summit was breathtaking and terrifying in equal measure; the emerald forest of the ship stretched out below us for miles, its silver leaves shimmering like a field of diamonds, while the dark, leaden waters of the Great Ocean churned at the base of the hull.

Leon stood there in a gray hoodie, hair messy, sleep still clinging to his eyes. “Dude, it’s two in the morning,” he croaked. “You high or just lovesick?” I ignored him. “Willow. She went to Southeast Asia. With Greenpeace. Do you know anything?” His brows furrowed, eyes narrowing. “Willow… wait, where’d she go?” The confusion in his face told me he really didn’t know. Still, the guy was unpredictable. Hard to trust completely. “She joined a team. Left with Greenpeace for Southeast Asia.”

The memory of past attacks lingered like a shadow over their steps. As I helped a young mother lift a beam into place, I noticed Willow observing from the nearby fence, her small form bouncing with impatience. She was learning quickly, picking up the subtleties of pack life, of village survival, without even realizing it. Her curiosity was unrelenting, her energy a bright light in a world that often felt gray.
