Trade Breaker

Trade Breaker

The device made a slight creaking sound under her grip, and she forced herself to relax her hold before she cracked another screen protector. His rudeness was astounding. He had brushed off her every attempt to reason, persuade, and even pressure him. Each word he'd spoken had been like a paper cut—seeming insignificant but irritating and painful. Solaire's refusal, delivered through Charles and others, was a clear rejection, but she wasn't about to let that stand. Her throat constricted around the bitter pill of denial. Alone in her office, she paced in front of the wide windows, which offered a sweeping view of the city. Her reflection was visible against the fading light. The click of her

I Am Merely a Passing Breeze

I Am Merely a Passing Breeze

The day after our wedding, Deanna Somerhalder secured her seatbelt and offhandedly told the car’s GPS, “Let’s go home.” The screen lit up, and the GPS said, “Now navigating to Harvey Bishop’s home.” My back stiffened. From the corner of my eye, I saw Harvey look up from the backseat. Deanna started driving. She sounded unbothered as she said, “The GPS is just using the most frequently used saved location. It’s just numbers. Anyway, this way we can drop Harvey home first.” Harvey said calmly from the backseat, “Don’t overthink this, Andrew. The GPS might just be used to this route because Deanna frequently picks me up.” I did not respond. Instead, I reached out to check the GPS history.

Games of Invictus

Games of Invictus

The metal doors slid open with a hiss and we were on the bridge once more. "Hey Jax," Taewi grinned, nudging my arm, "remember the last time you were up here?" I shot him a glare as I returned the coin to my pocket. "Not fondly." The Firmament's bridge was especially busy today. A large storm had swept in down the coast from the north, battering our port side and lashing at the windows with tendrils of howling rain. The Firmament's frame was strong enough to overcome even the largest hurricane, but extra attention was needed to keep its camouflage layer functional in the driving rain.

Mist

“Down!” I had my arm around Jace’s shoulders as I pushed him forward to the floor, and my other arm was around Malachi, and I gripped Levi’s jacket tightly. “Hylja sála!” Blue flames enveloped all of us as the bullets tore through the windows of the restaurant with deafening bursts.

The Divine Undertaker

The Divine Undertaker

For speed and assassination, it was the Windrider, Windpiercer, Windsearer, and Windblazer! For small area shockwaves and high offensive damage, it was the Airbreaker, Shadowbreaker, Rivalbreaker, and Wardbreaker! For an explosive blow that unfurled over a huge area, it was the Cloudrunner, Mooncutter, Starchaser, and Sunroar! For a penetration from a single point with infinite damage, it was the Ten Slash, Hundredfold, Thousand Stab, and Million Deaths! Caleb's breathing turned rushed at that, as they were talking about sixteen flying swords!

The Wind Between Our Goodbye

The Wind Between Our Goodbye

I dined alone in the restaurant. My stomach was full, but my heart felt hollow. When I returned home, I printed the divorce papers. I was just about to sign them when my phone vibrated. Josie Law sent me a screen recording of a video call. In the video, she and Xander Christian were standing on the deck of a luxury cruise ship. On the other end of the line were their friends cheering with admiration. "A trip to Antartrica? That costs at least 100 thousand! Xander had never once taken Josephine on even a 10-thousand-dollar trip, right?"

Broken Hand, Broken Heart

Broken Hand, Broken Heart

That was when I got a call from Zach Sorensen. "Has he seriously not picked up the burn cream yet? It's obvious he's not just a jerk, but a complete idiot! He can't even handle getting something so simple. What a waste of time. "Sue's a painter. Are you going to take the fall if she can't hold a paintbrush anymore?" He sounded impatient and very irritated, with no hint of guilt for Shawn. I stayed silent. Zach's patience was shot. "Get him over here right now to kneel and apologize to Sue! We can't just brush this off!"

Winter

Winter

Luna Ember pulled me close, her arms wrapping around my shoulders. “I’m fine, Luna. I wasn’t expecting…” I nearly jumped out of my skin when Alpha Damian turned and threw a bottle at the door. The metal bottle didn’t break but there would be a dent in it for sure. My eyes widened as I stared at the door and then at Alpha Damian. It was rare that I saw any outbursts from Alpha but that was way more than normal. “Honey…” Luna Ember sighed. “Go get your backpack, Winter. I’ll drive you back.”
