Behind the Office Glass

Behind the Office Glass

After returning from a business trip, I discovered that my wife had unexpectedly replaced the floor-to-ceiling window in her office with an entire wall of mirrors. When I questioned her about it, she looked at me with gentle eyes and smiled as she straightened my tie. "This way, when you come to keep me company during overtime, you won't have to fuss over checking your appearance. Don't overthink it. I had the nutritionist prepare some soup to help you recover. Drink it while it's hot." I found it strange. She was a career-driven woman who had always complained that my suits made me look too stiff and formal. Yet now, she had suddenly changed her tune. Still, I did not say anything. I simply smiled and walked over to the mirror, unscrewing the lid of the thermos. But the moment the hot steam rose into the air, two large oval-shaped marks slowly emerged on the previously spotless mirror. And in the corner, there was a faint smear of lipstick. I compared the height with a quick gesture and let out a cold laugh. 'A familiar height of five foot three and a C-cup. Office mirror reflections. How bold and thrilling.' I pulled out a tissue and calmly wiped the mirror clean before calling my assistant. "Get a renovation crew ready. Tonight, replace the mirror in Ms. Sutton's office with a two-way mirror. And notify the media. Three days from now, I'll be holding a live press conference downstairs."

Her Body, His Signature (A CEO's X Deal)

Her Body, His Signature (A CEO's X Deal)

My back hits the cold glass of the penthouse window, the city glittering a thousand feet below us. Sebastian’s hand is at my throat—not tight enough to hurt, but enough to remind me who I belong to. “You were talking to him,” he says, voice low, dangerous. His other hand is braced beside my head, caging me in. “You smiled.” “It was just—” “Don’t lie to me, Ocean.” His thumb brushes the hollow of my throat, and my pulse jumps so hard he feels it. “You’re mine. Every glance. Every breath. Every inch of you.” I should be furious. I should tell him I’m not his property. But then his mouth is on mine—rough, consuming, tasting like the whiskey he hasn’t let go of since the gala. I moan before I can stop myself. That’s all the permission he needs. His hand slides to my waist, fingers digging in as if he’s afraid I’ll vanish. The heat between us ignites like dry kindling. It’s dangerous. It’s too much. It’s everything. When he finally pulls back, his eyes are dark enough to drown in. “One year,” he murmurs. “That was the deal. But you… you’re making me want forever.” And in that moment, I know the worst truth of all— If Sebastian Velez decides to keep me, I won’t even try to run.

The Surgery Heist

The Surgery Heist

After my mom got into a car accident and urgently needed surgery to save her life, I gave the surgery slot to my best friend’s son, Isaac Halstead. After all, in the middle of the night, there was only one doctor in the hospital capable of performing the surgery. At the same time, Isaac had swallowed a blade and gone into shock. But after the operation, Isaac died under mysterious circumstances, and Corinne Halstead blamed his death on me. She started a livestream and twisted the truth. She falsely accused me of bribing the doctor, stealing the surgery opportunity that originally belonged to her son, causing them to miss the critical treatment window, which led to Isaac’s death. In the next moment, the police rushed into the hospital and took me, along with the doctor and others, away for investigation. My mom, whose condition was critical, missed the surgery and died. The incident trended online, and I was subjected to massive cyberbullying. The doctor who performed the surgery turned out to be my dad, Dr. Alistair Brennan. In the end, he was deliberately run over and killed by an extremist netizen. In despair, I drank pesticide to prove my innocence. Not long after I died, Corinne moved into a luxury villa with Isaac and my husband, Grant Kessler. Only then did I realize that Isaac’s death had been fake all along. This had all been part of her scheme. She not only took Grant, embezzled the inheritance, but also rode the wave of attention to become an internet celebrity, earning tens of millions. When I opened my eyes again, I returned to the night my mom was rushed to the hospital after the accident.

Married the Dead; Broke the Living

Married the Dead; Broke the Living

As Jastrelle's golden girl, I draw lots to pick my groom, and fate finally hands me Felix Ledger, the childhood sweetheart I've wanted forever. During the impromptu wedding, a funeral convoy belonging to a scion of a rich family in Jastrelle passes right outside. I hate the omen. Felix laughs, pulls me into his arms, and places the veil over my head himself. "I'll take it as a good omen. With you, I'm covered from first breath to last," he says. His adoptive sister, Winnie Ledger, hears him, bursts into tears, and bolts outside. The funeral convoy runs her down, and she dies. Felix barely reacts. Three years later, Dad is framed, driven into bankruptcy, and falls gravely ill. He dies, and I lose everything. At the funeral, Felix sends everyone off, shoves me into the open grave, and buries me alive. He spits, "You rigged everything to get me. You left Winnie ruined. She bolted outside, and that funeral convoy ran her down. For three years, remorse has eaten me alive. I want you torn apart! "With your last protector gone, I can finally make you suffer a hundredfold the pain Winnie felt and ease my hatred!" When I open my eyes, I'm back at the groom-selection ceremony. Dad smiles as he hands me the lots. I shake my head, look out the window, and point at the funeral convoy passing outside. "I'm not choosing anyone. I'll marry that dead man!"

Thank you for reading. ... Ellie is an orphaned werewolf pup, kidnapped and held by an evil Alpha. Alpha Gunner, of the Blood Claw pack forced Ellie at just eight years old to swear a blood oath to mate his son Tyson, when they came of age. The council additionally houses the Shadow Warriors, an equally diverse group of elites that police and fight those like Gunner who seek only to destroy. When Ellie catches a window of opportunity, she escapes and finds a friendly pack to take her in. However, Gunner will not let her go that easily, and gets increasingly desperate to find her. When all hope seems lost for Ellie, the Moon Goddess intervenes, and sends Ellie her warrior mates. Her mates quickly learn they cannot be with Ellie, as she is under a spell to keep her from shifting and getting her wolf for the first time. Can her mates free her from Gunner once and for all? Absolutely brilliant! I finished this book in a day and I'm devastated there isn't a sequel! It's like Game of thrones, meets True blood, meets the Witcher, but also at the same time completely in its own field and ridiculously addictive! highly recommend this book!! thank you author ❤️

Definitely my favorite books on here! I love them so much, I read them all again when Ben's book was finished. I do feel like his book was missing some things, though. I just don't feel like they actually figured out how to make things work at the end. It just kind of forced a happy ending.

The Husband She Tried to Cash Out

The Husband She Tried to Cash Out

Drenched in mud, I've just climbed down the scaffolding and started munching on a cold piece of stale bread when a luxury car speeds past me, effectively drenching me in muddy water. The car window on the driver's side is quickly lowered. A sleazy guy hurls a pack of cigarettes in my face the next moment. "Hey, peasant! This is a reward for you! I got really lucky today, after all!" While I pick up the cigarette pack silently, the man happens to be boasting loudly to the woman sitting in the front passenger seat. "My brother-in-law really is an idiot! He seriously thinks that my sister has a terminal disease! He went to the black market last night night just to sell his blood in exchange for 200 thousand dollars' worth of surgical fees! I end up winning double in the casino with that money of his! "My sister told me that once that idiot gets his hands on the work injury compensation, she'll divorce him right away and buy me a new home!" I grip the bread so hard that it crumples in my hand. After all, my wife, Estella Wilson, was just diagnosed with "late-stage stomach cancer" yesterday. Suddenly, I feel my phone buzzing in my pocket. It's a voice message from Estella. "Hubby, it hurts so much going through the chemotherapy! The doctor told me that I'd be eligible for better medication if we could cough up another 200 thousand dollars. Can you please plead to the foreman and borrow some money from him?"

ARRANGED MARRIAGE

ARRANGED MARRIAGE

Dionne is arranged to be married to Xavier, a powerful mafia boss with an unbroken reputation. To the outside world, he's cold, hard, ruthless, and merciless. She's kind, tender-hearted, beautiful, and caring. Given Xavier's reputation, Dionne doesn't want to fall in love, but soon, she learns that even the coldest hearts have a soft spot, and Xavier's just might be her. And although she doesn't like to admit it, hers might be him. Will they ever find love, or will this be a loveless marriage after all? He raises his fist and I could swear I made a whimpering sound. I turn away and I look at the window as Xavier gets quiet. "Dionne." he says, his cold, hard mask still intact. I look at him, not saying anything, and he shifts in his seat, well aware of why I reacted that way. "Who did it?" he asks. I look down at my hands and I don't reply. "Was it those assholes at the university?" he asks, genuinely concerned. "Dionne?" he says, his fingers brushing against my arm. I jump at his contact and suddenly a tear falls from my eyes. "God." he says as I begin to cry. I can tell he's not used to emotion .... "How was your first day sweetheart?" she asks sincerely. "A couple of frats tried getting in her panties in broad daylight and everyone around was gonna let it happen. How's that sound?" Xavier says, obviously still pissed.

My Villainy Starts With a Coffin

My Villainy Starts With a Coffin

My husband and my best friend had seemingly vanished during my grandfather-in-law's funeral. As I searched for them, I passed Shawn Whitaker's coffin and suddenly saw a live chat window flash into view: [Oh goodie, we're finally dealing with a male lead with a 200 IQ! He dragged Best Girl straight into the coffin before that bitch could find out!] [Aww, he's comforting Best Girl because she's scared of the dark! Aaaaahhhhh!] [That annoying extra is still outside looking for Vincent. She's so dumb, oh my god. I'm right here cheering for Best Boy to cheat with Best Girl because I swear that bitch exists just to get in their way!] Fury surged through me. I moved to flip the coffin lid open, but Jasmine grabbed my arm. "Wait! He can't possibly be in there. I think he went to buy Grandpa coffin nails." [Get yourself a little sister who helps you find happiness like Jazzy, chat.] [And now, in the warm, cramped, humid darkness, two bodies collide and sparks fly. This is metal as hell.] [It's also dangerous as hell. I'm just glad our guy was smart enough to leave a crack for air.] I smirked. Oh, was he? I slammed the lid shut, dragged a nearby lounge chair over, and settled into it. "We've got an hour before the funeral begins, don't we? I think I'll keep Grandpa company." The audience was stunned. [An hour?! They're going to die in there!]

Claimed By My Boyfriend's Father

Claimed By My Boyfriend's Father

"We can't do this," I whispered, even as Jamie's fingers traced my jaw. "Tell me to stop," he commanded, his grey eyes darkening with desire. I should have. But instead: "I can't." His hand slid beneath my shirt. "This is wrong." "Then stop touching me." "I can't." His voice was raw. "Every night I think about you. About this." When his mouth finally claimed mine, it tasted like sin and salvation. His hands gripped my waist, lifting me onto the counter. I wrapped my legs around him, and reality dissolved. "Right now, you're mine," he growled against my neck. "Even knowing what it costs?" I gasped. "Even then." What happened in that kitchen was unforgivable. Beautiful and terrible and absolutely devastating. But our secret didn't stay buried. When a mysterious text arrives—*"I saw what you did"*—followed by photos taken through my window, I realize someone was watching. Someone knows. And they're not just threatening to tell Aiden. They're playing a twisted game where we're all pieces on the board. As paranoia turns to obsession and obsession bleeds into violence, I face an impossible truth: the person I should fear most might be the one I thought I knew best. **Some secrets refuse to stay buried. Some desires demand everything. And some love stories end in blood.**
