Your Regrets Fleeting as the Wind

Your Regrets Fleeting as the Wind

Halfway through it, he paused his hands and looked at me. “I think I’ll be able to ruin you completely this time, Isaac. Charlie will not want you back. I’ll make sure of it.” I studied the patient’s status and said menacingly, “I don’t want to argue with you about this drivel. The patient is counting on us to survive. Continue the surgery now!” What I did not expect was for Zachary to swipe the scalpel across the patient’s lungs a couple of times. The first cut dug in very deeply.

Going Where the Wind Takes Me

Going Where the Wind Takes Me

At most, he could scroll through their old chats and feel sad for himself. Sean was not the type to wallow. Sitting on the plane, scrolling through old messages and crying quietly was far beneath someone like him. As a man used to winning, he refused to behave like a loser. Hence, throughout the twenty-three-hour flight to Sunland, Sean kept his eyes closed, resting. He was not a failure or a weakling. He was determined that once he arrived, he would win Eve back and restore their relationship to how it had been.

Rising from the Quiet Storm

Rising from the Quiet Storm

Jennifer felt defeated, her sighs coming out weak and breathless. When she looked up, our eyes met from across the second floor. She quickly looked away and scurried out of sight. I put my wine glass down and headed downstairs. In the shadows, Jennifer was standing alone, taking a deep, weary breath. "What are you doing here?" I asked, even though I knew the answer. Jennifer stood there, stiff as a board. "Nelson..." Seeing me again, her usual pride and self-importance had all but vanished, replaced by a look of careful vigilance.

Broken Wings

Broken Wings

He pushed open the back door, letting in a slice of cool air before it slammed shut behind him. She didn’t stop the lesson. Just pressed her hand gently to Dollface’s back and said, “Try again. This time with your core engaged.” Outside, Red climbed the metal stairs to the roof. The night wrapped around him like a tight coat. He lit a cigarette with one hand, the other buried deep in his pocket, and stared out at the city, trying to shake off the foul taste of the bouncers’ voices. . . .

Must Have Been the Wind

Must Have Been the Wind

It was now nine. "Oh yes, of course!" Ms Vento chuckled loudly, standing up as well and taking the plate and two mugs, throwing them onto one of the two counters. "Have a good night then, Hun. I have some work still left to do." She grinned happily, opening the office door for the younger man as he nodded and waved to her, making his way over to the stairwell, swinging his black bag over his shoulder as he walked. He had to make his way up to the fourth floor - something he dreaded every day after work. He never really understood why the owners of these buildings never requested elevators to be built when most of them had at least ten floors to them.

Wings of Momentum

Wings of Momentum

I had his arm pinned to his back while my wings beat at the air in big swings causing feathers and dust to cascade around us. He may be fast, but I was stronger, with wings. I pushed off of him, jumping as my wings beat downwards propelling me upward, and I perched on the railing that ran along the edge of the first floor platform. There I waited while he straightened his cloths. I hurt the wolfs pride, but what must be done is now done.

Twilight Skies

Twilight Skies

" I whisper. Officer Fagen has the Paramedic zip her back up and they load her on the ambulance. I'm shaking so hard now and Frankie's hold tightens on me as we go to our knees and he's crushing his chest to my back as I'm doubled over so far that my forehead is almost touching the ground. Frankie holds us together as we both cry hysterically as if he knows what I'm thinking.

THEIRS: BOUND TO THE ALPHA KINGS

THEIRS: BOUND TO THE ALPHA KINGS

Yet here one is, towering over me, its breath warm and smelling faintly of fire and smoke. “Please, what’s happening? Why are you doing this?” My voice trembles, betraying the fear that’s gripping me. But there’s no answer, only a sense of determination as he carries me effortlessly through the jet’s confines into the open air. The ground below us becomes a blur, the wind whipping around us as we ascend higher and higher. Terror unlike anything I’ve ever felt before washes over me. The wind whips around us, cold and biting, as we ascend higher and higher. I close my eyes, unable to watch the ground fall away, unable to comprehend how my life has taken such an unexpected and horrifying turn.

Wow I really enjoyed this book! I didn’t have to struggle with grammatical/spelling errors/ guessing what some sentences mean which is the case with some of the books here hence a very enjoyable read. I believe this is the first shifter RH I've read where the guys are not complete alphaholes and are actually some of the sweetest men you'll find in a shifter romance. And the way Reyna comes into her own and faces everything that comes her way, even after all she's been through, is truly inspiring.
