Their wounds healed in the meantime and they were more energized to fight now. They didn’t change to their wolves and started fighting with the crowd of foxes right away. The foxes didn’t change into their fox form either, they were also fighting in their human form. Riven was fighting with a group of seven people at the same time. He was like a ninja who was barely on the ground. Giselle observed that his kicks were his main attack. On the other hand, Stefan was fighting in front of her with a lot of people. Not letting anyone come closer to Giselle.

Chapter Six : Jealousy Ravina’s POV I sat by the window, staring into the darkening sky. The moon was half-full, casting a soft glow over the packhouse in the distance. The night air was cool, but I felt restless, my skin warm with unease. I wasn’t even sure why I was here, sitting like this, watching, waiting. But my eyes kept drifting toward the packhouse, toward him. Then I saw him. Alaric.

Riven whispers She hesitates, voice echoing in the stillness: Valeria: “Nothing yet. It’s… as if the veil rejects us.” Riven slams his fist into the oak altar, rattling scrolls and vials. “What good is drowning poison in blood if we can’t pull them back when we need them?!” asked Riven who was already growing impatient. His breath shakes as he scans the tokens of power around him,a necklace carved from a siren bone, a wolf’s fang, a stone vial of pure energy. None responded. No spark, no twinkle, no whisper. “We’re running out of lines to draw. Combinations to weave. …Riven, we don’t have time.” Valeria said.

But enough to make my wolf growl softly beneath my ribs. He was closer now. “If you want me to leave,” Riven said, “say it now.” I opened my mouth. But nothing came out. He took that as permission. Riven reached for my hand—slowly, deliberately—and brushed his fingers against mine. That single touch was enough. My skin lit up with heat. Not fire. Not pain. But something older. "This is where I come when the world gets too loud." I nodded. We stood there in silence and it felt like we both had things we wanted to say but could not bring ourselves to speak them. I looked around and my eyes caught on something mounted on the wall. A medal. Gold and heavy-looking with ribbons attached.

My scream rips out, raw and terrifying— Riven’s name.

Behind him, Wolf muttered, “If this goes sideways—” Riven didn’t look back. “It already has.” As he crossed the threshold, the lights blew out behind him. And somewhere beneath the river, Vex smiled—feeling Riven coming. Not as prey. But as a challenge.

a slightly low male voice sounded, causing Brawen to take her eyes off Chris, she turned to look at Riven who was raising her small arm, her eyes questioning. "It's okay." Brawen shook his head. "Sorry, I should have come pick you up." "It's not Riven's fault, I'm fine." Brawen smiled wryly. Riven watched Brawen smile back, his amber eyes a little wild but absolutely warm, he held out his hand: "So will you allow me to be your partner tonight?". The girls' regretful gazes turned towards Riven. Admittedly, even though Riven was only a C-rank Vampire, there was no denying that his perfection was comparable to that of a noble.
