“Let’s get you back to the pack house.” “Riven.” I say, causing both of them to glance my way in confusion; so I add, “my name is Riven.” “What a beautiful name.” He smiles, gently pulling me with him. “Oh this is going to get pretty old pretty fast.” Anton whines, following us closely. “I can’t help it.” Jamie chuckles, “she is perfect.” Anton fakes anger. “Yeah make it worse for the guy who hasn’t found his mate yet.”

Alec looked uncertain and uncomfortable. We walked outside. Just a few feet to the side, Raven was parked where all the other bikes were, but she stood out more. “Gosh! She is a beauty. You named her ‘Raven’?” She asked. I quickly glanced at Alec and when our eyes connected, his eyes gleamed with sadness and hurt. He was waiting for me to respond and his jaw tightened, “Yes. It’s because she reminds me of the night and she rides smoothly, as she glides in the abyss.”

"What do you think Supreme Alpha?",Ren, an ancient female shifter asked Riven. Riven's mind was faraway. He kept thinking of his mate. Now that she was recovered, he would get a whole new wardrobe of new clothes, shoes and every other thing she would need. He was ready to spend his entire fortune on her and he missed her already. He needed to return to the mansion and make sure she was okay. She would be awake now.

He carried no weapons, but every part of him read like danger wrapped in exhaustion. I lowered my stance. “Who are you?” He jumped down with the ease of someone who didn’t care how far he fell. Snow puffed around his boots. “The one you’re looking for calls me Riven.” My heart stopped for a beat. “You’ve seen Seren?” He nodded once. “Saw her fall. Saw her vanish. Saw something come after her.” Rowan drew his bow. “And you didn’t think to help?” Riven shrugged. “I don’t help people who burn brighter than gods. They tend to explode.”

Everyone and I mean every single weirdo in that glowing crypt of a room was still staring at us, like they were waiting for a prophecy to drop out of my mouth or my head to spin. Seraphina, bless her emotionless witchy soul, finally snapped out of it, her jaw clenched, and she turned toward the psycho beside me. “Riven, what are you doing?” she asked coolly. “What did you just say to her?” Riven, yes, apparently his name was Riven, which sounded exactly like the name of a guy who kills angels and broods under red moons just chuckling. That’s it. He chuckled like he hadn’t just declared me his, sniffed me like cologne, and shattered what was left of my sanity.

SCORPION WINS KAI'S POV The bike was down. I couldn't breathe. Viper looked over at me, his sickening eyes traveling over my body. "I will be collecting my prize now." My jaw locked. I felt sick. But then Jax raised his head. He looked at Viper, then at his crew. "Bike," Jax commanded. His voice was a low, dangerous growl. He walked over to his fallen machine. He bent down, his big hands holding the cold metal frame. I noticed his knuckles turn white and his strong shoulders tense up as he got ready to lift the heavy bike.

Arita’s POV The wind pushed us through the portal, darkness taking over the whole environment. It went on and on until the loud sound of the waves stopped, making my feet feel the hardness of the ground again. Nyx, King, Zach, the protectors, and the other witches all appeared behind me. I stared at the mass land the portal had brought us to. Everywhere looked so quiet. Too quiet for the trouble going on. A cold breeze crawled beneath my skin, making me shiver in the open.
