On the first page, hand-written in gold ink, were the words: Three Wishes.
Below it, my signature. A promise.
“Anything you want,” I said quietly, “Three wishes. I’ll fulfill them. No questions asked.”
Silvia’s brows lifted. “Even if I ask you to stop the sun from setting?”
I smiled. “I’ll buy it time.”
Her lips parted, eyes shimmering, and for a moment, she looked at me like I was the only real thing in the world.
“You’ve worn jewels,” I added, voice soft now. “You’ve had photos, gowns, flashes, and flowers. But this... this is me giving you something real. Anything your heart desires.”
