With the spotlight now on him, he threw his arms up, grinning widely as his teammates engulfed him. “He’s more than that,” I mumbled, not caring that I sounded ridiculous. “You’re just being obsessed.” She groaned, chewing noisily on her popcorn. She always chewed noisily whenever she was brewing something stupid in her head. Just like I had thought, she shifted her gaze back to me and with a hand resting under her chin, she murmured, “I told you about Caleb, remember? He asked me about you again. And unlike August freaking Reynolds, Caleb is actually normal. He studies Computer Engineering like us, and doesn’t think the sun rises and sets with his own ego.”

It was reddened and swollen, covered with scratches. "Nice way to treat the Luna, Alpha Cal," A guy said as he patted Caleb's back, a disapproving look crossing his face. "Shut up." It rushed into her mind all at once. The black wolf was Caleb… ? And the white one with blue eyes—the luna… it was hard to believe but there were more points to support that than she could think of. Caleb acting weird after his eighteenth birthday all of a sudden—the yellow flash in his eyes—his words at the Prom, all came to her, flooding her brain.

When he says nothing else, I ask, “But what happened? If you guys used to be best friends, it means he must've done something big for you two not to even greet each other when you see.” “Caleb started to move with the wrong guys,” he begins hesitantly. “Just as Caleb loved adventure, he was a troublemaker. There was this group of guys in our class that loved to play pranks, especially on the teachers. And for some insane reason, Caleb wanted to be a part of them. I warned him against it many times, but the guy was stubborn. Always has been.”

'You need to warn them of what they are going to see…' Caleb kisses my forehead then gets up, heading to the entrance of the tent as all look at him expectant. He looks at me then at them and says only a few words. "I am a shapeshifter… I have the ability to shape into a Dragon. And I am going to use it now to win," He then turns around and walks away.

Marcus dodged and countered, and Logan joined in, his fists flying as he attacked Caleb from the side. Alpha Caleb knew that in order to defeat Selena and Kevin and their allies, he needed to gather as many allies as possible. He had already made friends with some vampires, but he needed more help. He decided to travel to the human world to search for powerful witches who could aid him in his quest.

Caleb teased with a smirk as he picked up the cup of hot coffee on the table. "Yeah, it's the second one," he was taking a sip of his coffee but as soon as I spoke, he spat it all out. "What?!" His eyes bulged out as he gazed at me in disbelief. "You're joking right?" He asked just to be sure but the gaze that I was giving was just too firm to be a lie. "Are you serious, who's the lucky girl? I want to meet her," Caleb couldn't hide his excitement. He was a very good Alpha who worked hard to ensure everyone was happy.

Hands curl tighter at the thought of it. A curse slips out while leaving the bathroom. The bedroom door opens just as Felix steps into the hallway. At that same moment Caleb reaches the top of the stairs. Eyes meet across the landing. Caleb looks grim. “They’re here,” he says. “And the witch doesn’t want to wait around. Are you ready?” Felix shrugs beside me. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” A small shake in his voice does not go unnoticed. The anger snaps back to life. “Give me a minute,” I tell Caleb.

I was enraged and rejected her, yet deep down, I harbored love for her without understanding why. Eventually, my past self reminded me of her significance as my mate, and I searched for her desperately. My beautiful Kyla was found alone, having been hunted down and gravely ill. I picked up the phone with my eyes still glued to the TV and placed it in my ear. “WHAT are we gonna do now?” my best friend Kathy said into the phone in a hysterical tone. She must have seen the news; the only woman who could break my curse had been murdered. “I don't know, Kathy,” I said to the receiver as I bowed my head in frustration, taking my eyes off the TV. “you're gonna die, Caleb, oh my God,” I could hear her stomping her feet in her house from the phone; she was furiously pacing around.

She was waiting for him to say more or something. “Caleb told me something.” “Caleb? What did he say?” She couldn’t think of anything. When she met him months ago, they didn’t talk much. “His mate was abducted by Silver Crescent. He had to go and rescue her. He met your… I mean, he met Alpha Walter.” “He’s not my father, right?”
