“Do you like the tea? The scone? Do you want a cookie too?” Wren was frozen in indecision. Yes. To all of it. If he said yes, it was just giving Jackson more power over him. There were so many watering snacks to pick from that it made Maria indecisive. “I’d recommend the chocolate cookie,” He pointed to the one in front of her. “It’s a personal favorite of mine.” The cookie was in two layers with toppings on top and cream on top. It looked absolutely delicious and her mouth watered. The boy handed her one on a plate and said, “We allow new customers to try our snacks before buying one.”

“Chocolate Chip Cookies. They have chips flavored in three kinds of chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter, and butterscotch.” She pulled a cookie from the folds of a napkin arranged to keep them warm. “They’re for the person who can’t make up her mind.” Mackenzie studied the cookie as Judi placed it in her hand. “Too bad you can’t do the same thing with men… bake them all into a single cookie, so you don’t have to pick just one.” With her eyes wide, Mackenzie stared at the older woman. “I don’t have any men to pick from.” Judi tucked a stray curl back into her scarf.
