Witchcraft Cleansing Novels & Stories

The smoke swirled, a living serpent, weaving its way through the room, cleansing the air of negativity, carrying away the shadows that clung to the walls. As the smoke dissipated, the high priestess began the purification ritual. She chanted ancient words, her voice echoing through the chamber, their meaning lost to the passage of time, but their power still potent. Her hands moved in intricate patterns, weaving spells of protection, of strength, of healing. The words and her movements reverberated through the pack, creating a vibration that resonated with the very essence of their souls.

Two days before the wedding, Apollo finally showed up. He took my hand, his voice dripping with affection. "Lyra, I'm so sorry. I've been drowning in work. But today, I'm taking you to the Soul Cleansing. It's the final step before you become my consort." The Soul Cleansing required submerging my mortal body into three sacred pools representing Greed, Wrath, and Ignorance. It was agonizing. Like having your soul ripped apart and stitched back together. Without a god channeling their magic to protect you, a mortal would likely go mad from the pain.

Was it just me or did her her hair seem more silvery? She continued. "The Extraction Ritual is what you need to flush out your blocked mental pathways. It's called The Extraction Ritual because it takes something special seated deep from within you and clears out that part of your mind. There would be your playground. Where body meets soul, soul meets spirit. You can be and do anything." I didn't miss the quiet emphasis on "anything."

My hands shook as I pulled the ancient grimoire from my satchel. The leather cover pulsed faintly, as if aware of what I was about to do. He followed me in, his voice low, dangerous. “Don’t even think about using that book.” “Do you have another idea?” I snapped. “Because if not, you need to let me work.” His wolf flashed in his eyes, silver and bright. “It almost killed you last time.” “And it’ll kill them if I don’t.” I flipped the pages, scanning the sigils until I found one marked in red wax. My mother’s warning was scrawled beside it: To cleanse corruption, the vessel must become the filter.

Dorothy explains to me. I’m ready for this, and I don’t think that any amount of thinking will remove my nerves. I find my happy place, the memory of discovering that there is chance to live without Charles.. “I am ready,” I breathe. “Sacred candles, Bless this space, Protect this circle, Cleanse the air and, Purify the soul” The witches and wizards speak as one, as they each light a candle. The candles smell ancient, a scent of time and power. The air around us appears to shimmer as they place the candles in front of them. I take a deep breath and close my eyes.

She then set the herb bundle alight too, letting it smoulder for a minute before she blew the flames out. The brunette slowly started to walk around the tree, wafting the sage around, reciting a purification spell as she did so “Smoke of Sage , purify and cleanse this tree of any and all bad energies”. Sage scented smoke curled around the tree and where it landed on the blood stains, they glowed briefly and then vanished. Lena buried the sage at the base, blew out the candles and popped them into her bag. She shouldered it and walked away from the former crime scene.

The sky was clear and the stars were shining brightly, but I knew that the peace of the night was about to be shattered by the howls of the wolves. The ritual was a simple one, but it required absolute focus and concentration, no distraction from whosoever... I had to purify myself with water, and the best option I had was the small pond that was on the premises. I undressed and stepped into the cold water, feeling it cleanse me of all impurities. I recited the words of the incantation, feeling the power of the ancient magic coursing through my veins. I had to do this, it was necessary… it was very important I do this…else

“Now, as far as I can see from these results, your mate was correct to worry about both of you. The first spell was much more than a truth spell gone wrong. In fact, I don’t believe it went wrong at all. What it did was amplify your natural aggressions. Literally, it got you to fight the first person you saw. There’s a second part to the spell. Naturally, if this was all I was looking at, I would agree that she made an error when she performed the incantation. However, knowing now what I know, I’m confident in saying she deliberately tried to get you to kill each other. She was looking for maximum damage. The insidious part is her spell left traces of magic on you. I’d normally believe this

I blink as I sip my tea, looking up at Damian who is now considering what I just said. “You may be on to something.” He finally says, but then crunches his brow. “But how do we do that?” “Easy, we will do the spellwork in stages…first you and I bathe in herbs for purification. I have a bundle of lavender, rosemary, thyme, basil, and several other herbs, we use a special “un-crossing/anti-hex” soap that Storm will bring us and light white candle.” I smile, seeing the look on Damian’s face.

But she snapped her fingers—shadow and silver chains wrapped around it. “You’re corrupted,” she said. “But you’re not beyond cleansing.” The creature convulsed. She extended her hand and pressed two fingers to its chest. Dual essence surged. A shockwave exploded outward, purifying dark tendrils and obliterating the corruption, leaving behind only a flicker of fading light. The creature dissolved into dust. Ianthe clapped. “I’ll give that a ten out of ten.” Eryx nodded. “Destroying monsters has never looked so elegant.”
