Like someone had placed it there for me to find. My fingers curled around the book. I lifted it slowly, carefully opening the cover. There was no title. Just brittle pages covered in faded script and lunar markings. Symbols I didn’t recognise. In the middle of the book, tucked between a page of symbols and another of warnings, I saw it. A story of a wolf with a soul that refused to leave the world of the living. It told of a warrior who died in battle, his body cold, his mate devastated. But she didn’t let go.

Not with this cursed band strangling the soul out of me. So I stared, cold and unmoved, letting my silence speak the promise my mouth never could: One day, I will destroy you. One of the books shifted slightly on the table, falling open just enough to reveal images—hand-drawn wolves with glowing, mournful eyes and shattered jaws. Caged. Silenced. Like me. His eyes flicked to the page with casual malice. “These talk about wolves who defied their mates,” he said, like he was discussing a bedtime story.

I will never do that. I— I gasp as the hold loosens around my neck. My eyes snap open to land on the side of the wolf’s head. He is staring to the right, in the direction where Celia has just disappeared. As if enjoying my despair, the creature lets me drop to the floor and turns to the right to follow her. “ N—No. Come—Come here. ” I croak, trying to push myself up. The creature starts walking ahead. A surge of adrenaline makes me shoot up and pull the knife out of the strap around my thigh.

As we walked, the soft thud of our footsteps echoed through the solemn space. Jeremiah, a wise and weathered wolf with a graying muzzle, carried an ancient book in his hands. Its leather cover was worn, its pages yellowed with age. We reached a magnificent wooden table, carved with the same designs, and Jeremiah gently placed the book upon it. "Lyra," he began, his voice deep and resonant, "this book holds the secrets of our pack's legacy, and within its pages lies the tale of the Silver Werewolf." My curiosity piqued, I leaned in closer, my eyes fixed on the book. "Tell me, Jeremiah," I said, my voice filled with anticipation. "What is the story of the Silver Werewolf?"

Adalwolf I was on all fours . I could feel blood trickling down from my wounded ear to my fur . I can't give up I have to fight . I looked at him . His bland grey fur was matted with blood . I knew I already wounded him . I must go straight for his jugular vein . That will be the end . I was about to strike when I felt her presence . I turned and saw her . Everything else melted away . Her fur was beige in color .A bit of sandy but rich brown and her scent drove me mad. She was beautiful and she was mine . She growled at me . I knew the meaning even though I should not .

Feeling my body tremble with both anger and sorrow. "Every one of those poor little guys died.... How could anyone do that? How could anyone treat their own mate like that? What the hell kind of book was that, that there were pictures like that in there? Who would take pictures of them in that condition just to stick them in a damn book?" I asked. "It's an educational book for doctors. They were educational pictures to show doctors what severely neglected omegas in heat looked like." I sat there staring at the book that was laying on the ground for a few moments until we heard a loud thump come from the bedroom where our own sweet little Omega is sleeping.

The time that passed had little effect on them where they were safely stored. Jake gestured to a large table by the closed window and they dropped all the books there. Wayne and Walter walked over and Wayne took a book. He opened it and read the first page aloud. “The prophecy was never meant to be me. I was never the one...” he read but the rest were total gibberish, a repetition of words over and over again. But in the middle of the book was a sketch of a wolf with yellow colour pencil. Underneath it, the word ‘unclear’ was written. They all glanced through more books, each having just one page of useful information. But each had a better sketch of the wolf that began in the first book. An

The both of them began walking to the staircase that led up, to the next floor, where Citadel K was. “So what other differences do you think there are?” Harold who had been studying a small-sized blonde who seemed to be crying in a corner turned to look at her. The student had the same stature as Derek, Harold remembered, but Derek had been a Enchanter. A wizard, precisely. There was no way this weeping student was related to Derek. “I didn't hear what you said,” he said, turning back to look at her. “What other differences do you think there are between the pup of an Alpha and a normal wolf?”
