Each of them bows respectfully to me before one of them steps forward. “The Black Knight Pack’s base is two miles north of here, in an abandoned warehouse. We can lead the way.” Then, we’re running again. The closer we get, the slower we go until we’re hiding in the underbrush of some trees and bushes. I shift back to my human form with one of the scouts, listening as he explains everything they’ve seen.

As I lean forward, I rub my eyes, squinting at the screen, my face scrunching up in confusion. "Three trackers," Wayne continues, pointing at the blips flashing on the radar. "And of all places..." He trails off, his voice full of disbelief. I sit up straighter, the words barely leaving my lips before I can process them. "There? Really? Of all places?" My stomach churns with the implication. Accalia- After lunch, I had to meet with a client regarding one of the tasks I was given, but I took a detour before returning to the office.
