STONE HEARTED
My trembling hands cautiously picked it up, and with trepidation, I aimed it at Richard.
"Stop!" My voice reverberated as I commanded their attention.
"Step away from him, now!" I demanded and they both got away from each other and then I spoke.
"You're bluffing, Anny bae," Richard scoffed.
His words struck a chord; he was right. Holding a gun was a first for me, and my trembling hands betrayed my inexperience.
I had only encountered guns in movies and had never held one before. I had no idea how to operate it, nor did I want to, but desperation forced me to confront this reality.
