POV: LYA As my eyelids fluttered open, my gaze met a pristine white ceiling adorned with an intricate totem. Painted upon it was a regal figure—a pure white wolf — radiating an aura of majesty and grace. A sharp pain came from my head, causing me to let out a controlled huff. "You're awake?" A voice rang out in my head, "I'm Lyssa, your wolf, I'm sorry I didn't fully awaken until the moment you jumped off the waterfall, I didn't protect you."

She found the section on history books first, she reached for an old book that caught her eyes, with a thick brown, worn cover and a picture of a wolf on it, one that looked quite similar to the painting of the wolf on the wall in the living room. How strange? She took it immediately, having found her next read, she skipped out of the library and back to her room. She sat curled up in bed by the window, lunch was served by a servant as promised, she ate and stuck to get book. This book, titled, 'The Wolf Within' she had never really read anything like it. It seemed more like a fictional write up, than a history book. It talked about a wolf that was embedded into the souls of 'special people'

She strayed from the familiar trails, wishing to escape not only the twins who had rejected her, but also the expectations that weighed on her as the future leader of the pack. As her steps took her deeper, she began to sense a subtle presence, a soft murmur echoing in her mind. It was the wolf, awakening from her deep sleep in the face of Maya's emotional turmoil. A silent exchange of emotions took place between them, a mutual understanding that transcended words. The she-wolf shared the pain of rejection, but also pulsed with an innate strength of resilience.

He finally spoke,his voice filled with indifference. His uncaring attitude shattered something in me. A surge of emotion swam through me, betrayal,heartbreak,rage. I heard several gasps as a sudden light erupted within me,surging through my veins like wildfire.. My body trembled as the sudden change took over me,every muscle twisting and reshaping as power and pain collided. I gasped,my scream shifting into a low growl. When the light faded,I stood there on four legs,although I was smaller than most wolves,my red fur shimmered with an ethereal glow,and my eyes burned with defiance. The crowd stared,And for the first time,I felt whole.

“Yes. Isn’t that fair? After centuries of watching her die. After all this time, watching her make the wrong choices. Now you can finally make the right choice, the choice she wasn’t strong enough to make.” Something deep inside me moves. It isn’t magic or a memory. It feels like instinct. Something that I haven’t felt since Nyxara took over my life. My wolf stirs for the first time without restraint. He is no longer caged or muted. No longer suppressed by the confines of the Game. He is finally awake, which can only mean one thing. Nyxara is losing her grasp on everything. She is losing her grasp on me.

An older wolf carrying a stack of books blinked at her. She blinked back. The wolf blinked again. Then his eyes widened. “The human.” Before Nova could respond, the books immediately hit the floor. “Oh no.” “What?” “The Alpha.” “What about him?” The older wolf looked genuinely alarmed. “Does he know you’re wandering around?” Nova folded her arms. “I am an adult.” The wolf looked unconvinced. Then he hurried away carrying his books. Actually hurried. Like he wanted to be somewhere else before Kael found out. Nova narrowed her eyes.

The scents, the air, the freedom… it’s indescribable. I run. Fast. Free. Dodging trees, leaping roots, pushing until my lungs burn. Finally, I stop to catch my breath. That’s when I smell it. Something new. My body stiffens as my eyes scan the area—and then I see him. A black wolf. Golden hazel eyes locked onto mine. Cold fear floods me. I can’t move. First Tara… now this Alpha. My parents’ warnings echo in my mind. If they find out… The wolf growls softly, sniffing the air. His lips curl into something almost like a smirk, revealing sharp teeth.

“What? No. Not all wolves are the same, Nova. My pack, we help people. We take in innocent people after they’ve been attacked or seek sanctuary from vicious wolves. We’re not all assholes like Tariq. Like Nox.” Before I have a chance to argue with him as to who’s an asshole and who’s not, he speaks his mind, “he is an asshole, Nova. The fact that you can’t see it not only surprises me but is insulting at the same time. This isn’t you. You would never defend someone like him.”

"I managed to get away from the men, and I ran, but not before they saw I was a white wolf. I ended up at this woman's house. She--she helped me realize a few things, that I was wrong for leaving. “What do you mean? I didn't know you were searching about that?” I sighed, rubbing my temples. “It just happened. My wolf told me a story and I just have to find out. I found a book about them—the Silver Wolves. They were worshipped, Zara. Practically gods among wolves. They protected others, healed the sick, and stopped wars before they could begin. But then… something changed. They went from being revered to being hunted. I don't know how to why. The records are incomplete,”
