THERESA I jumped onto the enemy wolf, trying to get a good hold of his back. I latched my claws to his body as if he were a piece of rock I was climbing. Thick blood stained my paws. He bucked, but I kept hold of him, riding him as if he were a wild bronco. Nausea bubbled in my stomach. The wild ride was not mixing well with the wolfsbane that was still in my system. I swallowed back the vomit and tightened my grip on him. I would not give in to the wolfsbane or to him. I had to keep him away from Nikolai. It would be far too impossible to fight two wolves at once. Especially such big and trained ones as these. Alpine Snow Pack had certainly not sent their runts out here.

As the front rig comes to a full stop, the man driving hops out, slamming his door as he does. He's every bit of the average warrior. Tall, muscular, with dark hair and eyes—nothing stand-out. Nothing that would make you look twice at him, at least if you're a werewolf, but his aura is imposing enough that it's obvious this is the gamma, and you can tell he's proud of that. He stands stark straight, perfect posture, head held high.

“What are you waiting for? You’re going to get soaked.” Wondering again if one of the both of them was losing a few nuts he joined her. Matthew Wolffe. Nicknamed the Wolf. Self-made and successful. And he was running in the streets alongside a laughing nurse who caught his attention singing soulfully at a club. She was laughing as she shielded her head from the rain, dodging passersby. Before long they were in front of her apartment. She led him through the doors and up the steps to her apartment. They were both dripping wet by the time they got into the warmth of her home. She left his side and turned on the lights. A puppy with light brown fur danced around her legs.

“Is that the reason you remove them from the pack?” Thrumming my fingers on my desk, I made an annoyed grunt and said, “Vaewolf are rogue and don't assimilate to a pack. They follow their own rules and follow their own drum beats. Now enough about them. Go train with the guards and take your pal Nathan, or go to the village bar and have a drink,” I stated. As he stood, he smiled. “So Nathan's cool because he is just a vampire and you don't want to share your good liquor.”

But the strange thing was that the wound quickly returned to normal as if it had never happened. "Who are you?" Selina couldn't help but ask. Wira exclaimed shooting a red laser from his palm to Alfi. The laser runs at high speed that it hits Alfi in no time. Alfi’s body burns that his burnt bones can be seen in a jiffy. Good grief, it’s just his clone. Alfi managed to make Wira fall for the same trick. The clone turns into the yellow one.

"Get these straps off me. Lila's about to carve me open." The wolf snarled, deep and guttural, charging the nearest tech. One bite and the man went down screaming. Blood sprayed across the monitors. "Intruder!" a scientist yelled, fumbling for an alarm. "It's one of the Blackthorn wolves. Secure the subject." Another tech, a woman with a clipboard, backed toward the door. "Shoot it. Don't let it reach the vials. The marrow extraction is almost complete." Jax lunged again, smashing a table of instruments. Metal clattered. I twisted hard. "You heard her. They're taking pieces of me for their clone army. Rip them apart."

"Sequoia, like Wisdom, wants to talk to Mel she knows he knows something about her. She's looking around at the warriors of the pack fighting the rogues. Klondike, a wolf jumps at Klondike he swings his large claw across the rogue's face. While the rogue is whining Klondike bites his head off. She looks at Napa Mel's grey and brown wolf Napa again. A wolf jumps in front of her and snaps at her shoulder. Sequoia frowns, attacks him, and tears him with her sharp teeth. A thin mist shrouded the foothills of the trees as dawn began to break behind the horizon. Andhara led the way, followed by Claudia, Nala, Asen, Juna, and Gavin. Behind them, two large wooden crates carried on a wooden cart creaked softly, their contents strong evidence: the wolfsbane weapons they had found at the Black Order base. The wooden gate of the Dark Forest pack opened slowly. Several guards tensed, the unfamiliar scent of the rogues accompanying Andhara. But once they recognized the dark wolf, they nodded and let her in.

As I continue fighting I can't seem to get into a position to take the rogue down, then I hear ‘step back’ through the mind-link and ease back slightly as Torch leaps on the rogue’s back and electrocutes the rogue. I look around the battlefield and can see that most of the rogues have been taken down and no one seems to be in need of help. Then I hear a loud growling noise and whip my head in the direction of the sound. What I see is four wolves moving quickly in the direction of Argos, Kendall’s wolf, but they aren’t rogues. It only took a second to realize this was Alpha Hollis’s Beta and Gamma and their heirs.
