Its coat glittered against the sun’s touch. “Everything good, Astara?” Atarah looked down at her second in command. The wolf was only an inch shorter than the horse, and the only one of its kind to exist in the kingdom. Astara nodded and then lifted her head to sniff at the air.

Alexander gasped once again as he put a hand to cover his mouth as shock reigned on his face. "You mean, when the White Wolf's in the London headquarter was . . . brutally killed while it was being lively broadcasted . . . around the world?" Ash just nodded in reply. He knew how horrible it was when they watched them on TV, that dreadful day. He could see himself wearing Alexnder face right now as shock, terror and horror filled them as they witnessed that horrible scenario.

“I guess I have to go,” I said quickly. I foolishly took steps at a normal human speed. As a result, Justin managed to stop me again and get in my way. “Are you a wolvire?” Justin asked suddenly. I looked at him confused. “My name is Bara, not Wolvire.” Justin patted his forehead like he was out of mind because of my foolishness. “I mean ‘wolvire’; stands for wolf-vampire.”

“’Why does it hurt so much! Why do you have wolfsbane in you?’ What is he talking about?” “Oh, that’s nothing,” I grabbed my phone back from her. “She put her hands on her hips. “It’s obviously not nothing. Why did he think you had wolfsbane in you? Did you actually…?” “It’s not a big deal,” I replied. “I’m fine now.” “Dude! Wolfsbane? Wolfsbane!” She raised her voice. “You mean the only poison known to kill werewolves? The shit that’s a death sentence if any pack member’s found in possession of it?”

Those same honey-fire eyes glowed with a luminous intensity. The wolf stepped toward her, and Vanessa instinctively backpedaled. A low growl rumbled out from the huge animal. Another massive paw pressed forward, and another. She continued her retreat until her back hit the living room wall. The wolf pressed on, stepping within inches of Vanessa. The large muzzle released breaths in puffs of warm air within the cold room. Vanessa cautiously reached a hand toward the beast. Its fur was soft beneath her touch until ice coated the individual strands. She quickly pulled her hand away. The wolf shook, shedding the bits of ice with minimal effort.

Blasting me for not having a wolf. “I don’t know how much wolfsbane hurts, but I do understand the emptiness. Have you forgotten that I can feel a wolf inside me, but I can’t access her? I might not have to endure the physical pain that you had to but I more than anyone understand. It is something I have had to live with most of my life. Having to live life as a human, even though I am not human.”

There was a tale passed through generations, reaching the 21st Century, about a group of werewolves’ special mutation that brings out dormant abilities from a family’s genetic line. They were said to be marked and blessed by the moon goddess for they were the first of her followers. They were given the title of Legacy Wolves, keeping up their tradition and passing on their special traits through their children.

They take unknowing she-wolves from the cities and stage these combats. They charge a fee to even do it,” I said, trying to stop myself. I’d already said way too much.
