My steps fell softly over the gravel path, my cloak brushing against the flowering hedges. It was peaceful here, deceptively so. I breathed in deeply letting the warmth of the sun settle over my skin. Just as I rounded the lilac arch, a blur of movement startled me. A wild hare darted across the path, no more than a whisper of fur and muscle. I gasped, frozen for a moment, stunned by it's speed. I didn't know they were so near the residence.

We smelled of cold stone and damp earth to the nose. Still, I was freaking out. They are here, Harriet said, with barely a movement of the lips. "I know," I murmured back. "Breathe slowly. Follow my rhythm." She nodded, following my gradual in and out breathing, despite the ground shaking with footsteps. Wolves. A ton of them. Never mind the stories- no wonder everyone avoided this place. Something moved at the edge of the clearing as she brushed himself off and Scar froze. It was a patchy, long-legged spring hare that didn’t seem to have noticed him just yet, and with luck, it wouldn’t ever. She reached for an arrow as it sat placidly munching on a tuft of new grass. The second her fingertip touched his quiver the hare bolted for its burrow. Scar cursed, took a half step toward where it had been, and then stopped. There was no point, and the animal was well shot of him by now.

Silently, she thought to herself, "why don't I make him come to Wonderland!" Fritz was about to put the helmet on Cassandra's head, when an idea suddenly popped into the girl's head. Cassandra smiled broadly, and turned to Karra who was about to close the door. "Please tell Uncle Marc that I'm going to Wonderland tonight!" she shouted as she waved her hand. Karra, who felt that she had received a code, immediately took the initiative to call Marc. "Yes, what is it?" Marc asked calmly. He felt quite calm because Cassandra didn't appear in front of him at all tonight. He even guessed that Karra was about to deliver a fake message from Cassandra.

The thorny leaves on the thick shrubbery lining the narrow path shook violently as the silver and grey wolf leapt from its depths and stood before Fiona. “So, there ya are. I’ve been calling for ya for some time now,” Fiona scolded. “Pick a friendlier beast. You’re scaring me companion.” Brandon watched in amazement as the wolf raised himself onto his hind legs and then slowly transformed into an enormous hare. Brandon rubbed his eyes, as if to make certain he wasn’t imagining the scene before him. Fiona gave an exasperated sigh. “Now, what good do ya think ya will be to us like that?” she barked. “Use your brain. This is serious business.”

Mhir exclaimed in delight when the view before them became clearer as they approached. It is the Dwarves’ Village!
