With a deafening screech, something horrifying surged out of the sand, seized a mouthful of my skeletons, before diving back into the sand as if it were water, scattering bones in its wake.
“ - !” The young man declared as the company went on alert, the sunlight glinting from their blades.
“Like a worm,” I said.
“Legs,” the scarfed man observed. “Many, many tiny legs, like hair. Handy to sift through the sand, I imagine.”
“The mouth,” the woman was appalled. “It had rows of teeth.”
